It was a great show. I was surprised that there were 6 Pontiacs there, and they all placed. Usually, in this area of Maryland, we might be lucky to have three Pontiacs show up at a show...lol. Often times, I'm the only one. I also thought the Show's trophies were awesome. They were in the form of an artillery shell that doubles as a Thermos...quite unique.

Knights of Columbus 3413 Car Show on August 18 2024

Nice small car show in Severna Park Maryland. Due to the weather forecast, 34 cars showed up; 2 were Pontiacs and they both placed in Top 30 Best of Show.

Had another great time. Making new friends, seeing the many awesome rides that are still in the local area. Vintage Tin of Maryland put on a very nice car show at the Linthicum Baptist Church. There were about 50 cars entered, with a good diversity of makes and models. Only two Pontiacs in the show. Mine, and a gorgeous 1967 Pontiac GTO. Enjoy the collage.

Another great car show on August 31, 2024. This time put on by Wheels of the Past Labor Day Car Show. I estimated about 175 cars in attendance. Of those, seven excellent Pontiacs were represented, with a diverse range being GTO's. I believe my Ventura was the only one out of our Pontiac group that nabbed a Best of Show Top 30 Trophy. (I am totally dismayed that the other Pontiacs didn't place, that I know of.) I had the Drive-In Car Hop display going this time. I was afraid the seagulls were going to steal my fake fries...lol. Any rate, enjoy the collage of the beautiful Pontiacs that attended.

I also wanted to point out that while I was at the Wheels from the Show Car Show, I noticed that my friend's 8 Lug wheels on his 1964 Grand Prix, were different. I've known this car for a year, and just realized that his 8 Lug rims have been chromed. He has no trim rings on his 8 Lugs. Must have cost some past owner a fortune to have the rims chromed...lol, but it does look sharp. I've never seen 8 lug chrome rims before...he may have the only set. If you have ever seen a set of 8 lug chrome rims before, please let me know.

Kiwi Boni and Justa6,

This is the best picture I could find of his chromed 8 lug rim, for now. I'll take more pictures next time I see his 64 Grand Prix.

In the picture, notice the valve stem and how it's mounted. You do NOT see an elongated hole and trim ring, in which the valve stem protrudes through. You see the chromed 8 lug rim with the normal valve stem mount. To me, it looks a lot nicer and cleaner...but, in my opinion, not worth the expense to get four 8 lug rims chromed. I can't imagine the cost.

Close up is attached. I'll get more pictures from different angles soon.

I'm going to start a new conversation about this. But for now...while I was "cruising" Facebook, apparently another example of chromed 8 lug rims showed up on a 1963 Pontiac GP at Ocean Pines, Maryland Car Show. I can not definitely identify if they are, even when I zoom in the picture. So curiosity always gets me: I go searching for chromed 8 lug rims. I have attached the information/examples that I found. 61-62 15 inch SET OF chrome 8 lugs was found on H.A.M.B. site for sale. BOP sells chromed 8 lug rims in both 15" and 16" sizes. J&G 8 lug Restoration offers to restore and reline your 8 lug hubs. Hope this helps you all.

...and back to Car Shows in Central Maryland.

The Annapolis Moose Lodge 296 Car show on September 7th, had about 175 cars in attendance in cloudy drizzly weather. Five Pontiacs were there, and none placed in the show...bummer. Because all five were excellent examples of Pontiacs. Enjoy.CollageofPontiacatAnnapolisMooseLodge296CarShow2024.thumb.jpg.10c6b8207cdad4c09a94e46e054a0e6b.jpg
