I just completed my registration for Power Tour. Long Hauler fees went up to $200 for the week from $150 last year.

I finished booking my hotels as well. I'm spending 3 nights in Bowling Green, KY. One night in Louisville and Columbus each. I"ll be driving home directly from Indianapolis since it's only a 5 hour drive.

Yup. Three dragstrips, one super speedway, and a football stadium this year. I'm going to try to get Lucy down the track this year and perhaps an autocross event too.

Last year we did three speedways, a dragstrip and a state fairgrounds/football stadium.

In 2022, we did a football stadium, 2 superspeedways, a baseball stadium, and a regional fairgrounds.

Hot Rod Power Tour just announced an optional add on event. For $100 you can take some lead follow laps in your car at the National Corvette Museum’s road course on Sunday, June 10.

I’m signed up, I have a 10 am track time. Now I have to get my butt to Bowling Green a lot sooner than I planned. Long Haul pickup.is also  available on Sunday.

Does that mean you can gun it frosty ?

I believe so Kiwi. I am hoping at least. There could be some speed limit, but if there is, it will probably be higher than Lucy or Black Beauty can do.

Interesting. I was reading the Power Tour website today. It would appear our first venue has changed from Beech Bend Raceway (drag strip) to NCM (National Corvette Museum) Motorsports Park (road course), both are in Bowling Green, KY.

That would also help explain the addition of paying for track time on Sunday at NCM, as part of getting there early. This is also now where we pick up our Long Hauler credentials early.

  • Author

Correction - it would appear that early Long Hauler and Gold credential pickup is at NCM Motorsports Park on Sunday, June 9th. Platinum pickup is at the Corvette museum itself. The first official day is still at Beech Bend.

Every day I seem to find out something new. Today's news - Holley is hosting a parking lot party for Power Tour participants for free. Holley is now headquartered in Bowling Green, KY.

image.thumb.png.bf8abb79751fe463e8c48148d6f1f60c.png

The location is Holley’s distribution center at 487 Century Street in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Please note, this is not to be confused with its headquarters near the Western Kentucky University campus. The party will take place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Please RSVP on Facebook, so they can properly prepare.

Yes, I've already RSVP'd. So I have something else to do after my track time at NCM on Sunday. Whew! It's going to be a busy, busy Sunday for sure!

Who are you riding/driving with this year? the 55 chevy guy?

I’m a solo act again this year Joe! Like I’ve been the last two years. I’ve met up with my buddy from Virginia and his 454 powered ElCamino for the last two years but he’s having health issues right now and he’s not sure he’s going to make it.

There is another couple from Charleston WV that are coming.i might hook up with them.

Teaser time.....

Today was early credential pick-up at NCM Motorsports Park. I also had a 10 am track time to do 4 laps around the 3.15 mile 23 turn road course. I was actually able to go even earlier because of so few people signed up for the 9 am. So our group was first on the track for the day!

TrackPhoto.thumb.JPG.d9143e6c481af4edb7f806d24fd4d924.JPG

This is a photo of a photo that NCM took of me on the main straight away. I got BB up to about 81 mph before I had to brake. I have more photos of my on track coming later in the week. I would do this again! It was fun. The elevation changes are pretty awesome too.

I also have dash cam footage. I have not looked at it yet to see how good or bad it is. I had all of 5 minutes to mount it and get it ready before we headed onto the track. I probably won't have that ready to upload until after I get back.

Here goes boys and girls. Here is the raw, unedited footage for part of my 4 laps at NCM Motorsports yesterday. Sorry there is no sound, not sure why there isn't a built in microphone in this damn thing. Heck my Canon has one.. It is what it is.....the camera makes each file about a minute long. Annoying I know. Heck I'm happy as hell this came out at all since I had all of 5 minutes to put it on the windshield and get out onto the track.

I will edit a complete version sometime after I get back. For now enjoy a lap around NCM.
