Here are some shots of the before and after with my G.P.

Rebuilt 400 with mild cam. Rebuilt TH400. New Exhaust.

Currently waiting for my paint guy to get me in. Completely stripped with a razor blade and a heat gun.

  • Finally!!!!! Prix went to body shop yesterday! I'm seeing progress!!! When the tow-truck driver started her to put on the rollback he exclaimed "Damn, that sounds good!".

  • Drove her to work today. Everything seems to work fine.

  • Finally got the final cut and buff a few days ago!   Thanks for all the encouragement and support guys!!!

Amazing work so far.

How long did that take? And why did you choose to do it that way if I may ask? That seems extraordinarily labor intensive.

I got this car from the original owners widow. At some point he had done a driveway paint job on it. Unfortunately, he laid a BUNCH of paint on it. It was very thick and brittle.  I didn't want to sandblast or chemically strip, so I loosened it with a heat gun and scraped with a razor blade. Took about 2-3 months of just a few hours at a time. Was kinda relaxing actually.  The car is really solid and I was surprised to find very little repair work.

Wow great car! I can not imagine striping the entire car with a heat gun and razor blade. But great job bro, you must be a patient man. What color are you going to have it painted. We love pics so please keep us updated on your progress.

Its gonna be "Burn Out Blue" from the Eastwood catalog.  Supposedly the painter will be ready for me the week after Thanksgiving. Cross your fingers!!!

That's awesome. I cant wait to see it bro!

Hmmm.....if I were to assume this car is going back to it's original color, I would guess it to be Atoll Blue Poly. However, it is GPBill's car and he is welcome to change up the color if he wants to. So I am not going to assume Atoll Blue Poly.

Its an Eastwood color called "Burn Out Blue" also known as "Intense Blue". Brighter than the original color.

ya have to read back in Bills thread Mate 😜

Here is the color - according to Eastwood's website. Very cool in my opinion. More importantly in Bill's.
