  1. Nothing against synthetics, have always used Castrol 20-50 in the Sunbird and GTO for the summer heat, and alot of idling (Dream Cruise) . Daily drivers get Castrol 10-40 year round.
  2. So the thunderstorms held off til the GTO was safely back in the garage. Highest # I saw was 103 on the window credentials. Pontiac was well represented, so I will focus on them. Re sizing each shot is a pain, so might do this in a couple post to this thread. Love the new steering wheel and had many compliments. Most from friends that noticed the difference.
  3. C5...Gee I have probs with that one too. Having probs with your left arm/hand?
  4. Don't work too hard. Glad ya got out for a cruise. I have a show tomorrow, but callin for heavy rain, early afternoon. See what their sayin in the AM. Really have no ambition to coat the underside of the car with mudd or the time spent cleanin it back up.
  5. Jumped out and grabbed correct bolts, while apart install the turnsig lever. Good to go.
  6. Beautiful find! Congrat's Summershandy! Went to reply to Notallthere's grandparents and found my post to you unsubmitted. Sorry to hear about your grandparents. Was wondering why you were so quiet around here.
  7. Congrat's, every milestone in a build doesn't compare to hearing it run. Seat time is a close 2nd.
  8. Using the other end as a spacer worked perfect. Justa drilled N tapped the end. Would be so cool to meet up sometime. Will install when I pull er apart to replace the shoulder bolts.
  9. Already have the unfinished veneer, Justa need to match it to the console wood grain. These two have to match. As you finish cutting out (already stamp cut) for radio, knobs ect, I have plenty of test pieces. Now thinkin all trim around gauges and edges need to be copper instead of silver, to further tie in the dash to my amazing wheel. Last Indian also made me a copper turnsig lever with a sweet Pontiac logo on the end. It's a LIL short so figuring out a way to add a spacer to make it long enough. If I use the alternative end and tap that outside end for a bolt to match the treads of the logo end, cut the head off, insert, then I could screw on the logo end. The wood spacer would be for finger activation of the lever and take all the stress off the logo. Thinkin this will work and look amazing.
  10. That was yesterday....Justa might have another today.
  11. Thankz for the link to last Indians page. Did you see his wheel?
  12. When the lastindian joined I was so impressed with his mad skill's on highly detailed mods on his beautiful ride. If you haven't checked out his albums, take a minute to enjoy. After a minor problem with the GTO this summer he offered to help me out. This lead to some great talks and a chance for me to display some of his mad skills. After finally receiving the correct turnsignal switch today and the rest of the Steering column parts waiting to be installed. I was chompin at the bit to get er done. Check out the custom steering wheel by the master......Last Indian. Thank you sooo much buddy. Next is matching the console wood grain on the new wood veneer dash insert.
  13. Sorry bro...should not be this much trouble. Summit has a Q and A tech you can talk to if you call. That would be the way to go if you have to return it and go back to your original dist.
  14. Agreed..... Never understood why they didn't give it a reto look. As everything went to the G platform. Why not make it the G10??? We forgot to cross the T in GTO. I like it.
  15. Put your phone on video and lay it in the trunk. Close lid and see if it turns off. OR you can use the wife in same manner and have something to talk about for the next couple days.
  16. That's some warped thinkin right there. Now think of Notallthere in latex pushing it down the road. Quick fix.
  17. Your lining up the timing marks 1st, right? Look close is there another timing mark within a 1/2in on either side of the mark your using on the harmonic balancer? My 421 has 2 marks. If so try the other. The vacume advance mod should be pointing directly at the driver side valve cover. This is more of a "room to advance or retard the dist" without vac/advance hitting something, also saves clutter on too much vacume line. If your on the timing mark, the rotor is facing #1 and it backfires or sputters, then line up the timing marks again. If the rotor is facing #1, then pull dist up just enough to move the rotor facing 180 or directly facing away from #1. Should fire. Are you using a stock Pontiac HEI or aftermarket? Are you getting spark? Pull a plug wire and check while turning over.
  18. Justa talkin firing order in another thread. Missed you guys for Woodward this year.
