Which is a better idea than the floor shift... next issue.... how do i do the manual mode ? Rick, did you hook up your 4l60 trans to a manual mode of some sort ?

So I did some research on the subject and think I know exactly what has to be done; I just need some confirmation about that. I found diagrams on other forums that showed placement and had explanation; the first one here appears to show the placement of all four clips, at each blue line point.

Then there were these long clips, this image shows placement on the trim but I can't tell where exactly on the car they go. There are only four; two for each side, and so I would assume one clip goes on the rocker under the front fender, where the 350 badge is, and the other, on the rocker under the rear quarter;

And then the small clips themselves; according to one forum, this image below shows the front of the clip, the way it faces into the trim, and that the hole is the top. They stated that on the other side of the clip, that the tab near the lower end usually gets inserted into a hole, and helps keep the clip straight when screwing it on. However since those holes are obviously not present, and drilling more than is needed would be not a good idea, they said you can bend those tabs in and put two-sided tape instead, so you only need to drill for the main screw holes.

Hoping that what I have said and shown makes sense; I would imagine the four small clips go on first, and then the two long ones.

Ended up putting the center caps on two days ago; they look great and they're on there snug. Paid extra for the original style ones with the clips, as opposed to the new style ones where you need to take the whole wheel off to put a washer in behind.
And then yesterday. One of our friends called us up two days ago saying we should head out to his place to put THE CHROME BUMPER ON, and so that happened. As well as a passenger side view mirror, lisence plate light, and a long ordeal with the headlights (one was crooked, one didn't work, etc.). Would've had the rocker trim on as well but we were unsure how exactly those clips go on. I did some research and I think I understand fully, though I just need some confirmation about what I found out. (probably make a separate thread for that.) But it was quite the day yesterday it was awesome.

My personal preference would be to do a column shift if you are keeping the front bench seat. A floor shifter and a bench seat can sometimes look like an awkward after thought. If you were going with bucket seats, the floor shifter would be fine, in my opinion
Besides with a column shifter you can have your boss next to you on date night or the grandkids when you go for ice cream.

NOPE....never messed with a Holden floor shifter. Sorry

I am of two mind about what to do about the shifter ! Option one is to use the ve Holden floor shifter and make a mount for it on the tunnel … keep in mind I am sticking with my factory bench seat …
Or …. Use the factory column shift and buy a cable kit to hook it to the 6l90e
The column way will look more factory and won’t be an issue with my factory bench seat … has anyone done a similar shifter ??????

I installed the drive shaft today, to see what modifications I needed to do to the floor …




It was a perfect fit, how ever the u bolts that Brett supplied where 6mm too short !
I will get into him tomorrow




I then spent the rest of the day opening up the tunnel , and completly forgot about taking pics !
So watch out for next weekend !!!!
