Called another dealership today...maybe they could find another five speed Focus. NOPE.

The guy sounded baffled on why I even wanted a manual. Then after realizing that's what I really want, he then tried selling me a Fusion base model with a five speed. Ugh... :picard:

Why are salesmen so dumbfounded by a 25 year old male that wants a manual transmission?

your a dying breed in that class of car or any car.......

Also, I really hate that I cannot truely build a Focus exactly how I want...sure, I can get a Focus SE with the Sport suspension, but why not the 18" alloys? Or even the Titanium's better looking black housing headlights? It's irritating that I'm forced to choose from four pre made bundles because the American public is too fawking stupid to configure a car from the ground up.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-

Swapping to the Ti headlights and fog bezels has become a common swap. The S and SE models feature black window trim though, whereas the SEL and Titanium have chrome.

You could also use stock SE wheels for winter and get the 18 inch wheels for summer? All you'd need with them is a set of the steering limiters as the larger wheels would rub at full lock.

Where would I get the parts from? Dealer only?

I'd be a pain in their asses about wanting those heads and fogs on an SE, and the 18"s. Steering limiter? I don't follow...

The days of COPO cars are long long gone....... IMO is cuz of mass production and all the computers in the cars ect.......

The steering limiter is just like a bumpstop, as far as I know. It's just to prevent the larger-diameter wheels from contacting inner workings when they're fully turned.

For the lights and such, the parts counter will have them. I have the part numbers for the bezels, and other members of the Focus forum I'm on have the ones for the headlights. You're looking at spending ~$500 in parts though, unless you sell the stock pieces.

It pisses me off. What's the chances of a dealer allowing me to have the Titanium's 18" alloys on a lower trim model?

Oh I'd definitely sell the stockers...but why not just include those pieces in the MSRP and have them dealer installed? Same with the 18"s.

YES I'M PICKY, GODDAMNIT.

If you really want confusion, apparently the Titanium headlights cost LESS than the chrome pieces, if you buy separately. :lol2:

Whaaa?

But srsly, you work at a Ford dealership, see if they can do that.

To be honest I don't know. Worth a shot I suppose.

Kinda surprising with the camaro since alot of the SS's I have driven are stick except for the rental ones. Whats rare to find is a 09-up CTS -V with a manual, I have driven at least 20-30 of them and only 1 has been a stick that was a company car coupe when they first came out. Out of the thousands of regular cts's only about 2 or 3 of them have been stick. Driven 2 or 3 fiesta sticks but not a new focus only autos. Drove a 335i 6spd today that was awesomevas usual lol.

I live in a yuppie town, people can't be bothered to switch gears

Seriously 1 out of every 40 Camaro's the dealerships around me get are stick, with it being a sports car you would think it would be at least 50-50.

That surprises me that you see so many CTS-V's in auto, then again it's a Caddy but they made a big fuss about manual in that commercial. The few times I've wondered onto the local Caddy dealer's site though there was at least 2-3 manuals on the site. Don't know if that was false info or what but they were there.

I called a few Chevy dealerships about the Cruze. Same deal, no manual models for me to test drive.

In fact, the salesman I spoke too, said I was the first person to inquire about a six speed manual Cruze in that particular dealership, since they started to carry the Cruze. :picard:

Seriously, why is it that hard to find a new car with a manual? Fawk this shit, I'm moving to Europe.

My sister's fiancé was actually able to test drive a manual Cruze, I was shocked when he told me. Consider it being a lower end car you would think they would give out a manual to drive down the price

The biggest thing with a manual is that in North America they just do not sell that well. I think 80% of vehicles will have auto and even then some of the car companies are a plan phase out of the old stick shift.

Most car lots do not store them as there are a lot of people will use the test drive as a way to train someone to drive stick. I have found that the more rural dealerships are willing to stock the odd one. When I test drove for the Vibes I had to go 75 miles to test drive one. Fortunately the dealership gave me $500.00 off the price right away for the days trip.

Havent actually driven a stick cruze mostly because 95% of them have been rentals but I have driven tons of them already lol. The 5spd sonic I drove last week was actually pretty awesome.

Ah, car shopping.... Test drove a lot of vehicles. It was so hard to find ones with a stick... but I did find exactly what I wanted! Loss-leader, too!!!

They're out there!

Drove a GT500 with 6,151 miles on it today took it out with the lease manager. It was awesome for sure.
