This is your official thread to post your pics. Share your fav DC stories. I did not get down there today, (for the 1st time in many years do not have a parking spot) Meeting with the crew. Gonna miss Indy as he has to work. News is saying the rain will hold off til late afternoon, but with 90+ temps and no air in the Bird. That's when my wife puts her purse on the floor and the exhaust takes over and melts everything in the purse. Yea like this hasn't happened before.o

Been quite a day. I had a backup plan, but after the fuel pump quit. I did manage to get it started and meet up with the crew. IndyJoe had to work, Frosty brought the purple people eater. JustaG6 brought the grands for their 1st Dream Cruise. Mike N Beth brought their Rivera. Usually early cruise is uninterupted but today was dead stop, true test of clutch leg. Frosty was most impressive I must say. High Temps and bumper to bumper traffic sucked. More than 90% of the cars around me were daily drivers. We finally made it JUSTA past 12mi RD (where we usually load up with Dream Cruise Merc.) and I turned around, giving up on the last 4 miles and wanting to get my gear. I had been running on the alternator only putting out 8volts. Soon as I made the MICH U, the fuel pump kicked off. Now in 4 lanes of traffic N dead. My son in law jumped out to help me push and a number of spectators jumped in to help. I couldn't keep up with this hip, once we had clear shot at changing 3 lanes so I jumped in and pop started the Bird. Got back to DCmerc tent. Out of my size shirts and already sold out of dash plaques. Glad Frosty snapped up the Woodward DC street signs at a different event. The crew thankz you ol buddy. They are even sold out of everthing online. Overheating cars forced us off Woodward for another route home. So same place it screwed up last year, It died on me again. This time Mike pulled out a new jump box about the size of a cell phone. Damn if it didn't fire the car right off. Oakland Pontiac airport was hosting the Goodyear blimps and i had wanted to get some shots but was more worried about getting home. Did get a couple flyover shots. Didn't take many pic's as too many peeps blocking what seemed to be a light year for show cars. Heat index was a cooling system nightmare and 105. Most of us without A/C. ABC channel is hosting the 2 hour live broadcast so I'm off to watch that. Will add my few pic's L8ter.

August 13, 2025 - Back to the Brick's Rolling Cruise - Grand Blanc Michigan

After discovering Violet would not shift properly, I jumped in my pickup and joined a buddy of mine to watch the first of two days rolling cruise for the Back to the Brick's celebration.

Saturday - August 16, 2025 - Woodward Dream Cruise

The dawn patrol gathered at Tim Horton's at the point of M-59/Cass/Elizabeth Lake Roads. Violet, The 'Bird, Red, and the Riv were there. Sadly Indyman Joe had to work, so no Dirty Girl today.

IMG_4103.JPGIMG_4104.JPGIMG_4107.JPGIMG_4108.JPG

Listen to a little blower whine from Justa's blown V6.

After grabbing breakfast, we hit Woodward in earnest.

IMG_4111.JPGIMG_4112.JPGIMG_4113.JPGIMG_4114.JPGIMG_4116.JPGIMG_4117.JPGIMG_4120.JPGIMG_4121.JPGIMG_4122.JPGIMG_4123.JPGIMG_4124.JPGIMG_4130.JPGIMG_4131.JPGIMG_4132.JPGIMG_4135.JPGIMG_4140.JPGIMG_4141.JPGIMG_4144.JPGIMG_4146.JPG

Nicky's D's Coney Island, near 14 Mile Road. I would end up spending much of the day watching the cruise go by from here.

IMG_4148.JPGIMG_4147.JPG

Two-thirds of a six door Delorean limo. You just never know what you will see on Woodward. More that later.

IMG_4155.JPG

Name one other cruise that gets coverage from the Goodyear blimp?!? Bet you can't.....

IMG_4157.JPGIMG_4478-A.JPGIMG_4480-A.JPG

The Riv developed overheating issues from the bumper-to-bumper traffic. The Bird was getting warm as well. Justa said the alternator was not charging the battery so he didn't dare shut the car off. We stopped for souvenirs at our favorite stand, the Shrine of the Little Flower Catholic Church Elementary School. After that we parted ways. The Bird and Riv needed to get home safely. JustaG6 had her twins in the back seat of Red and they were getting warm and fussy, so they had to get home too.

Cool True Flamed Lemans!

IMG_4174.JPGIMG_4175.JPGIMG_4177.JPGIMG_4164.JPG

After that, I parked at nearby Greenfield Elementary school and a got a free shuttle ride to Nicky' D's for the rest of the afternoon.

Saturday - August 16, 2025 - The Flushing "A" Cruise - Flushing Michigan

The Flushing "A" cruise occurs every 3rd Saturday during the summer, which means it competes with both Back to the Bricks and Woodward in the month of August. Flushing is a northwestern suburb of Flint. So often people leave Back to the Bricks and come to Flushing. However today was dead. First of all BttB usually ends at 3 pm. This year it was ending at 7 pm. Second, rain moved in around 6:45, basically ending the day. I got to Flushing around 4:15 from Woodward. Violet and I made it home before the rain started.

The Flushing "A" is a former A&W drive in. A&W wanted the owner to tear down the restaurant and build a new modern one on the site. He told them to pound sand and lost his A&W franchise license. in the process (or he told them to stick it). He still servers A&W root beer and root beer floats. Just didn't want to spend money needlessly. Don't blame him - this place is popular as Hell all summer long.

I got the last laugh. I sent his this picture of the Rambler!!!!!

I was out and about for well over 11 hours - in the heat, humidity and the unburned hydro carbons! It was a glorious day but I am beat! I slept solid this morning I just need another day to recover. Monday is going to come waaaaaay too soon for me. Still I had a great day overall.

All the way back in Waterford, I stalled it and had to push it off the road. Look up and the all seeing blimp is there again. It was landing when we were driving past the airport. Mike has a jumpbox that's about the size of his cell phone and wanted to try it out. Fired the car with a dead battery and no time to let it charge up. Amazing!

Honestly, not enough time or money this year brother. I'm trying to set up my yearly Novi visit for August next year but it's still too early to tell. So, for now we justa have to settle for watching the cruise through y'all's camera lens.

Here is hours worth of Dream Cruise story's from this year!

For anyone interested in the largest car show/cruise on the planet. Truly a celebration of American Automotive heritage and Detroit Manufacturing.

I am really surprised with all the Mich members of FP, nobody else cares to share their Woodward experience and pic's. We host the whole world and don't have enough pride to add your take on the event for all to admire.
