My next door neighbor surprised me on Friday evening. She asked me if I was going to the Chrome and Ice show. I said I was. She had an exhibitor's pass for the entire weekend she said I could have. I allowed me free parking, entrance, and 2 free hot dogs each day! Cool beans. I only ended up going on Saturday because we are hosting a Super Bowl party with son's girlfriend today.

I ran into folks I knew along the way as meeting a buddy of mine there.

Nothing like walking in the door and coming across a '69 Trans Am! One of 669. The owner has owned it since he was 17. He bought it the late 70s / early 80s for $700! The numbers matching motor is long gone - blown up. Still they have a date code correct block in it now and built as a Ram Air III. Gorgeous restoration.

The Back to the Brick's Founder - Al Hatch - this is his GTO. Interestingly in all the years I've known Al, I've never heard him mention this GTO convertible. This year's B-to-B Promo Tour is June 9-14 - same time as Power Tour...dang it.

Here is an interesting GTO. The owner says it is one of 10 GTOs produced in the Spring Mist Green (per PHS). He says that the judges at the last GTOAA convention he took the car to have only seen one Lemans in Spring Mist Green. So this appears to be an uber rare factory color - at least for the A-bodies.

If you remember about 10-12 years ago, I helped a buddy with his '68 Impala. I called it Automotive Archaeology at the time. Here it is. Since then, he has added a B Cool radiator, replaced the Hi-perf cam with a stock/RV cam and he's added a re-purposed factory throttle body fuel injection system.

Another buddy was across the aisle with his '55 convertible that I have showcased in the past as well.

Here is an oldie but a goodie. A true AA/Fuel Altered! The owner tells me that his son now drives it. They make about 120-130 runs a year, mostly tracks in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin. It was no tach! It has a 2-speed Powerglide transmission. They launch at around 7800 RPM and shift around 10,000. WOW! The added the wing because the 1000 ft. mark the slicks are starting to lift off the track! Best ET is in the 8s.

Flint is the birthplace of General Motors. It is also the birthplace of the Corvette, the first 300 were produced here in 1953. In 1954 production was moved to St. Louis.

Meet Corvette #112 - this is owned by the Flint Sloan Museum.

Yes I did purchase the AC Spark Plug sign. This was an underground picture for decades at AC. It was never part of an official ad campaign but it was popular around the shop. All the hourly guys have this picture in black and white or color in their tool chests.

Thanks bud.

B-to-B has always been meant as a competitor / alternative to Woodward. They have more pre-day events such as tune up parties, the drive-in theater night, the cruises up and down Saginaw St, a concert night, etc. Everything culminates on the same Saturday as Woodward.

Now they are just adding more activities such as the Dust Em Off and Road Rallies to round out the season.

Another stellar collection of pics from Frosty. Whenever I see a rat pickup, I just want one. There is just something irresistible about old Yank pickups.

I can see why you bought the AC plug sign. It wasn't for the image of the plug, was it. It was for the gorgeous scantily clad young woman draped over it. Men never change, no matter what advanced years they may be.

Or it's deja vu all over again Justa!!

You are right Fitzy - all men are chauvinistic pigs. I've been aware of this image for decades. I was tempted to possibly airbrush my own version, but this was far easier and cheaper in terms of time and materials.
