This week starts the most holy of holy weeks for us car guys in Michigan. The Back to the Bricks week long events in Flint Michigan and the Woodward Dream Cruise this Saturday, August 20th. So depending on which events you choose to participate in, you will be in a rolling cruise or a static show area. Either is great. 

JUSTA6, JUSTAG6, Indyman Joe, myself will be out and about. Not sure if we will see notallthere and the missus thanks to Cankunistan border rules. I hope we do, but if not, we are thinking of them and we miss them - a lot!

This year I will be with the Michigan Widetrackers at the M1 Concourse on the south end of Pontiac. If you've watched the show Roadkill on Motortrend, then you know about "Roadkill Nights" event that is held at the M1. It is street legal drag racing on Woodward Ave one day a year, the week before the Dream Cruise. This year's event was held last Saturday and it is available for streaming from Motortrend.

So we will post pictures of the events we attend. Our plans for cruising are a little soft. Justa is still working on the Sunbird, so the Goat may need to hit the streets.

 All hail Woodward.  Also checkin out the Bricks this year.  1st time for me.  My son in law has a Buick Rivera so he wasn't able to park with the Widetrackers this year at the M1.  Wasn't gonna let him hang out by himself.

Frosty, Mike is working today so he has tomorrow and Saturday off.  I am trying, but don't know if I can meet you guys tonight.  JustaG6 N Mom are franticly working on wedding stuff tonight.  Friday.....My plan is always to be the 1st at the Dream Cruise Tent N say Hi to Joe N get my Dash plaque N T-shirt. To make sure they don't sell out.  Then maybe take a cruise all the way down.  Mike will be with me.  Wanna set a time we could all meet N hang out for a bit? You could talk to Joe tonight. Know your gonna be at the M1 anyway, but you will have a better idea on how things are gonna work out there for Saturday. I'll be headin home to work on the Bird N maybe heading back for some crusin in the evening.   Same for Sat.  wanna get down early  9:30 - 10:00  to make our official run.  Hope Mike can meet up with Joe @ milford RD N 59, then meet up with me N Mel.  We will call you when we are moving your way to meet up.  Then head to Flint to cruise the Bricks.  Weather isn't going to be a problem Saturday til the evening. By then my wallet will be tapped out from the gas bill.   Breaks over back to work,  it's already hot out.

Cant wait to see some pictures!!!!

Beautiful, but Hot day.  I'm done, gonna see what I can get done on the Bird motor.  Frosty got the raw end of the deal today arriving at the M1 and they wouldn't let him in.  He still ran with us (Wife N I took OZ, he was sooo ready to go after hearing the GTO fire up)  and the Daughter N husband in their Buick Rivera.  Stopped for T shirts in Royal Oak.  Pontiac is completely shut down, no cruise parking, vendors.  Most displays were still being set up the entire route.  Usually up by Thurs nite.  Then cruised up to Flint and ran the bricks.  Traffic was moving fine, still took us 5 hrs to make the Double cruise route today and get home.  We plan to add some cars and do it all again tomorow.

Here are photos from Thursday night's rolling cruise at the Back to the Bricks. Justa couldn't tell time so it was justa me and Indyman Joe rolling towards Flint from Grand Blanc. We never made it onto the Bricks. We quickly tired of the bumper to bumper traffic and bailed in favor of looking some place to eat. Joe was looking for ribs. We ended up eating coney island hot dogs instead (chili dogs to the rest of civilization). After hot dogs and ice cream we picked a spot to watch the cars roll by.

Yup, that's Indyman Joe in my rear view mirror!

Yes I did get screwed at the M1. Long story and I will tell it later - the club president agrees I got screwed but making a scene won't change things and just would be cool. So I won't get going back tomorrow (as a spectator). I'm going to run with Justa and Joe in the morning down Woodward and then follow up to the Bricks to see what happens. I will probably take the Buick too - justa to stretch it's legs too. I took the Trans Am today.

We live N breath our cars here and nothing makes us happier than to share this gift with the whole world.  This is sooo amazing for us N mind blowing for everyone else!!!!!  You get to see a lil square of a pic.  It's overwhelming in 360 all around you.  Car people are the best people worldwide.

SHOWTIME ......  Been waitin a whole year for this.

Check this thread often, we have a ton of material and story's.  This thread will be going on N on with new material.  

So we met up at Tim Hortons 9:45ish.  Had a chance to park our cars together for a group shot.  Justa G6 starts muttering about marks on her car.  The lil girl that was with the car parked next to her, must have Kissed her reflection in the fresh waxed car. Leaving doughnut cheek prints on the side of the car.  Priceless.  Fire em up to officially start our 2022 Dream Cruise and Frosty bolts from the parking lot.  I thought he had timed the light so we could all get out at the same time.  I pulled out with Mike and his Rivy following, but they had to wait.  Mike finally pulls out N blows the carrier bearing drifting across the 4 lane hwy. into another parking lot.   We are hopelessly seperated.  I Offered to drive Mike home to get his car trailer.  He declined and sent us off.  The Boss came to the rescue as she sayed home today.  By the time I hit Woodward,  JustaG6 is a good mile up already and Frosty is about 3mi.  Met with G6 and headed toward Frosty heading back North.  I'm stopped at a light and the damn  DIS-CUSS-TANG in front of me starts rolling back at me.  G6 is tight behind me N have no place to go.  I'm screamin at this fool,  All the spectators on both sides are screaming.  Dude hits me anyway.  Not like he pushed me into G6.  light turns and he shoots across into a neighborhood.  No damage....but an instant flameon, set the tone for my day.  Here is a couple shots to start with. Glad we had the group shot.  Mike N Beth made it out of the parking lot N the carrier bearing for the driveshaft gave up.  They waited all day for a flatbed.  We met up with them on our way home very late afternoon......more on this waaay later in the Dream Cruise coverage.

We are almost to the start finish of the Roadkill 1/8mi track.
