My next issue is that this is a 63 block

it doesn’t have the material like 64 and onwards  for the block mounted starter motor . Which is going to be an issue with me wanting a over drive trans !!
more research required I feel !

yes JustA that weiand unit would be the answer, as that mounting plate can be made and welded to a injection manifold👍

I’m not doubting JustA, no doubt in my mind what he says is how this is viewed and dealt with! But this is kind of what I got paid big bucks to do! Figure out how to do something that wasn’t supposed to be able to be done. So while I’m a bit familiar with the issue I’ve never seen it. So Kiwi if you can show me some detailed picture of the issue & the differences I’ll see what I can shake out.

When i get time i will post some pictures of the 63 block and my 64 block where the starter mounts and you can see the differance between the two. 65 they drill the material that 64 had and from there on all starters where block mounted, guess this was because of the new turbo hydromatic  trans

True enough mate! Pretty much nothing is invented anymore! We all borrow in one way or another from something that’s already been done! Sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. That makes us smart! Not stupid! Like you say, why reinvent the wheel? Just make a different one.

You and i are so on the same page here mate !

i want to build a very special Pontiac, not just another street machine, but one that has had lots of input from the likes of all you reading this.

To date i have built cars all by myself, with very little input from anyone else.

i want the 57 to be different. i want ideas and input all the way along, and right now its all about the plan, then you guys can help me blow shit loads of money building the car !!:dancingpontiac:

The cool thing along the way is using parts that have a story attached to them like Dwight's 389 that i am going to use!,the c4 suspension from the guy with a 6/71 blower in his lounge,  this to me is important because it forms the whole cars personality.

i have only just shown pictures of the 57 to my club mates at taupo rod and custom club, and it sounds like they want to do a club run to my place to kick its tires !!! best i throw on some burn out tires i feel !!!

i have a total of 7 rims and tires that are 5x5 stud pattern

wish i could find a couple more ! but this is nz 😡

and that bloomin exchange rate is socking at the moment !

It is, it’s a LSX crate engine. Still not that much of a leap to get to the 389.

last Indian,, this is certainly impressive ! i really like the colour too!!

i know its early days but.. i am a blue guy! more so than what the boss wants, which is red.

Things i note.... the custom fire wall looks very clean, and the super charger induction, even wayy more cool plumbing. i can make that !! but that pan in front of the induction over the top of the radiator !! now that with its negative detail beading... i am thinking how the heck did they do that !.. yeah ok a bead roller but with a radious bend in it too !!! wow !

Grab stuff when you can, esp if it's a great deal.  Gonna need it sometime.

Wheels look cool! Now why don't I find stuff like that, as I could do with a new set of carpets.

sorry guys i should explain... thats kiwi version of ebay.

back in the day it was a fantastic place to buy and sell, then it got sold to some big fish who basically shuffed it... now its full of junk traders who think they need to place 200 adds for 1 thermstat for your smal block chev. basically spam ! ffs !

and as you all know fb is the place now to look for parts....aye wrongway !! 🙂....very good score mate.... sooo looking forward to seeing that hood fitment

There is also Craigslist here in the states too. Canada has kijiji- their eBay. I surf both.

I would really, really, really like to figure out how to get a '68 or '69 Beaumont out of Canuckistan. Beaumont was a separate mark or brand, sold only in Canada. They were a cross between a Chevelle and a Pontiac GTO. Chevy powertrains but a lot of Pontiac styling cues. Beaumonts are equally accepted at Chevy or Pontiac shows.
