That looks very sparkly - well worth the ridiculous cost ☺️

That's what I thought - what price can you put on bright shiny things? I'm dressed in rags and living off Home Brand baked beans and tap water, but the car seems happy.

Pfft Paul !!!

Fitzy retired !!! He’s living the life now !!!!!

  • Author

Retired??? I have just come off the end of 3 x 10 hour days at 550km per day doing overtime. My regular 7 days starts this Wednesday. If this is retirement, send me back to the coal mine.

Please don't mention "coal mine" - you'll send me straight to a therapist(
I haven't been at work since February (health issues), & although I'd prefer not to have to be in Critical Care to avoid returning, I'll have a go at almost anything else to do so🤣

Spoken like a true FIFO worker! Hate the job but the money's too good so here I go back to work. I hear these convos every day on the bus. Everybody moans about their crappy job and the boss is a dickhead and the company is hopeless but off to work we go to earn big bucks.

I'm sorry to hear of your health issue. Underground can't be good for anyone. I did almost 10 years on Groote and probably now have a nice thick coating of black dust on my lungs to ensure a short life. Luckily, it is a fact that beer will wash the dust off lungs, or so I believe.

I'm a believer - hand me that beer.

I sold the GP. After months of agonising I made the decision. It went to a car nut in southern Queensland (who has a Caddy like Kiwi's) and it's a good move because the car will actually get used and be seen.

As a consequence of this I have altered my profile pic and you can now gaze and shake your head in disgust at my old ute. If Ringo wants to shift it to the Other Autos section, he may.

Oh - and I had to call it a wagon as there is no option to input 'ute.'

Ringo - get onto it!

GoodBye Crimson Terror! (

Goodbye Frosty Tach! Sob! (

So what is the next chapter in your mad Pontiac life?

  • Author

It wasn't an easy decision and I was always aware of the Frosty Memorial Tach, but at least people will actually see it now.

No more Pontiacs, no more 'projects.' My ute is 36 years old so that'll be enough to keep me tinkering...until I get an electric Corolla!

Wtf !

You’re way too late for a mid life crisis mate !!!!

What’s the point of having money in the bank !!!!! You can’t cruise in it

You can’t talk to it or polish its long flowing curves !!!!

I think you need a doctor !!!!!!!! 😜

How about while I am working on the safari I send the 57 over and I can get you to set up the vette suspension and that l98 sitting in my floor.

Hmm...tempting. How about you come over and install the new septic and plumb it into the new granny flat? I'm in mid house & property renovations & repairs and looking at the GP just sitting there under a dust cover told me it deserved better.

Luckily, I am used to insults here. You are a rank amateur compared to a certain other member. When your 'classic' is in flames on the side of the road, my old ute MAY come to the rescue.
