  1. Bud, I'm not sure if your asking about matching the wheel to the exterior or just another interior color? If your question is the later then I would say not likely. Not impossible but as Frosty indicated this would be a special dealer request. I assume your asking about your '66? If so, is your Bonnie Turquoise or Blue as there is no Mariner Blue?? There was a wide range of interior color choices and all the Catalogs always had "Suggested" colors to accent your interior with the exterior color and the wheel was closely color matched to the interior but not always perfect due to the plastics and outside vendors limitations. So if one was wanting to change the color of the wheel I would think it would be based off one of the many interior choices in '66, So not far fetched but again not very likely. FWIW there were several paint suppliers for Pontiac. All working off the same palette. Here are the PPG/Ditzler charts to give an idea of colors. CHEERS
  2. Yes you could but it was called the GTO option and would have been trimmed as such not as a Lemans.
  3. WELCOME TO THE SITE. Looks like a solid base/good project. Head rest were a popular addition. Is it just the head rest (Code 571) or the Reclining passenger seat (Code 578) which included head rest? either way a nice addition. Was red the factory color? Best of luck with her.
  4. You may be able to access the Grill/Bracket from the trunk but likely will need to remove the rear seat. The Grill has 4 speed nuts. One at each corner.
  5. The weather was perfect for a good run down the interstate this afternoon, decided to stop in at the CVAS held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. Ran into a few cars I've not seen before, this 1961 Ventura being one. Outstanding 4 speed car! Here's a link to a few of my other top picks; ENJOY! https://flic.kr/s/aHskxthRsi
  6. This has been a wet dream of the "Forward Thinkers" almost from the dawn of the automobile. Luckily I'll be long gone before the DRIVING EXPERIENCE is part of our history
  7. Those insert sheets are from a collection called Hot Cars or Muscle Cars released in the 90's. They also did a 1966 GTO and IIRC a 69 or 70 but I think that was it on the GTOs.
  8. The use went through several use/changes over the years... http://www.motortrend.com/news/buick-ventriports-the-early-years/
  9. It is one of the coolest professional cars I've seen in some time, Also the only brand to use the "Ventiports" on the fenders... Give up? ROADMASTER by BUICK, this one being a '49 vintage. This car was amazing with loads of OE patina and accouterments.
  10. Here is a Bulb Chart that may help... I recently gave the 2357R (RED) LED a try on the '66. These replace the 1157 Tail/Brake lights. Overall they did increase the output and since the Tempest/Lemans taillight size leave a lot to be desired I figured they didn't hurt.
  11. There are really only two main players for rebuild parts. KANTER AUTO; https://www.kanter.com/productdetail.aspx?DeptNo=1400&MakeName=Pontiac&MakeYear=1968&CategoryID=31&ProductCode=1655&Router=Gallery EGGE MACHINE; https://egge.com/product/kits.php?action=Search+MMY&kit_make=PONTIAC&kit_year=1968&kit_engine=250+CID There are a few who also sell parts but nothing like full kits. Here are a few items to give you a little insight to the OHC; First is my Pinterest page with Malcolm "MAC" McKellar's S.A.E. Report on the OHC 6 engine. He was the lead engineer on the OHC 6 program and this report offers a very good look into how it's designed. https://www.pinterest.com/mrbigbluesky/pontiacs-new-1966-ohc-6-engine-mr-mckellar-report/ Second is a fairly recent OHC BUILD that also has some good information; https://www.hemmings.com/magazine/mus/2017/01/Inside-the-Sprint-Six/3750446.html Cheers
  12. Our Saturday weather was fantastic for the 2017 VIRGINIA FALL CLASSIC. Upper 70's with the leaves just starting to change, Good live music and lots of eye candy. For those interested here are some of my favorites for the 270+ cars in the park. Cheers https://flic.kr/s/aHsm9HSSm7
  13. The value is in the information contained on the build sheet. This is what PHS uses. If you decipher it, it will show what features/options the Bird left the line with. Preserve that document and keep it out of sunlight as the ink/printing will continue to fade away. But I would not laminate it.
  14. First, welcome to the forum. That is an interesting back story on the Firebird amazing to see it in that condition after being in lock up for so long. These OHC powered Pontiac's are very unique and seldom seen out and about. I will not agree with so many who buy and sell OHC cars and parts and use the term RARE so freely. IMHO Rare they are not, but are VERY UNIQUE. What make these so unique is under the hood and If you take away the drive-line then you have just another 1st gen. So if you already feel you will not be happy with the 6 then it would be an unjust to the Firebird and yourself. The OHC was/is a misunderstood power plant and has a great following. I have NEVER gotten the type of response to any of my other Pontiac's like I do with my OHC powered Lemans. Now if you think you may want to venture into the realm of the OHC you will find we are a gentle breed and welcome all new comers Here are links to the ONLY OHC Club/Chapter in the world! Check it out and consider keeping it OHC powered. http://www.ohc6.com https://www.facebook.com/groups/1013971318683583/ Cheers and best of LUCK with it!
  15. Regrettably that is just about our only option. There are one or maybe two more dealers out there and the price is the same. I will stick with Kanter as they have been in the game a long time. I look at this way, they were the only ones to get them re-made and that is one thing all previous OHC parts suppliers should have been thinking about, so at the least we have a source. It's a high price but these belts will go 100K+ if kept tear/oil free so money well spent. Other parts are once again becoming endangered as well. Starters, Water pumps being at the top of the list again. The price we pay to own such a unique engine I guess.
  16. A great '67 color for sure! Thanks for sharing, I'll pass it on to the Cammer Club.
  17. MAN-O-MAN that '67 Tempest SPRINT is SWEET! That Production number is very real (Close to actual) Neat piece. Priced at the top of list but neat piece none the less.
  18. HIDDEN CAMMER I can't believe I almost missed this... Very Cool !
  19. Yesterday was the AACA annual WINGS & WHEEL'S and the weather was fantastic. I persuaded my friend to dust off. Top off and fire up 3 of his 8 and get them out to the show. Here's a link to some of the other machines in attendance; https://flic.kr/s/aHsm4v2ZbK Cheers
  20. Gary has the Biggest Toy Box anyone could ever need Outstanding Guy and Family as well, with one hell of a Goat Farm My Ham of Daughter and I drove out several years ago just to hang out and take it all in. Thanks for the memories
  21. That Marina Turquoise '66 looks outstanding! Love me some Green Cars
