  1. Right on Frosty!... How could I have forgotten Daryl Starbird?! When I was a kid, our entertainment was building models and I built my fair share of planes and cars. But the cars I built were not stock or race cars, I built custom cars. I loved (and still do!) the '60s customs and I new all the customizers back then... Barris, Roth, Starbird, Winfield, Alexander Bros., Jeffries, etc. Man, this brings back good memories...
  2. Wow, very impressive... that man has insane skills! However, to whoever wrote the article, it is more an Ed Roth style custom than a George Barris custom.
  3. Thanks for posting this SPRINT 6... goes to show you, one (me!) should never jump to conclusions without the all facts. I still believe it's a miracle he's alive.
  4. Apparently, this guy was drag racing his pro-street '55 Chevy without wearing a seatbelt! How he survived can only be attributed to God and he needs to find God's reason for his continued existence. http://bangshift.com/bangshift1320/miracle-video-guy-wrecks-pro-street-1955-chevy-legs-hanging-windshield-walks-away/
  5. Nice collection of Pontiacs you got there! What is the 1/4 mile time on the Firebird? Got a video you can share?
  6. Glad to have you here at FP! That's a beautiful Grand Am you got there! I've always had a soft spot for Grand Am's... I had a '93 GA GT with a Quad-4 HO and a 5-speed. Man, I loved that car and I should have never let it go, it was a lot of fun to drive.
  7. Frosty, you are 100% correct about moving! Got 4" of snow today and temps won't even get into the 30's until Sunday. I'm hoping for a day or two of 40 or 50 degree weather in the next couple of weeks. What's funny is that many years ago, these cars were our daily drivers and now we're freaking out over some cold weather like they're going to blow up or something, lol! There's no way you can put Sta-Bil in a full tank, right? Don't I have to have a near empty tank, pour the Sta-Bil in, and then fill it up?
  8. I would love to move to FL or somewhere it's warm year round, but the mrs likes to experiance all four seasons and, most importantly, be near our grandson who is due in April.
  9. Wow, that's a crazy fluctuation in price!
  10. I don't know when I'll be able to drive the Goat again... It looks like winter has finally caught up- it's going to be in the teens and twenties all this week. I did fill up the the tank before I put her in the garage, but I didn't put any Sta-Bil in it. I'm hoping it will at least get in the 40's in the next week or two and I can get her out again.
  11. Yeah Frosty, why is it so cheap up there? It's finally under $2.00 in my area... $1.96 at Costco.
  12. Yeah... go Lions! My favorite team is whoever is playing the Cowboys.
  13. It was a sunny, balmy 45 degrees here new years day, so the mrs. and I decided to go cruisin'. Here's quicky phone video of Black Betty warming up before we left... >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9fcxX2BT5Q
  14. So did you come back with the Buick or the T/A?
  15. It is a bit of a poser with the added options, but, like you say Frosty, it is a real '71 GTO convertible. I say it will fetch somewhere in the $40K to $65K range. We need to figure out which night it will be auctioned.
  16. Merry Christmas to all my FP pals! >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a59W2VHFfJ0
  17. I'm having some sort of deja vu (three-peat?) over this car at the Barrett-Jackson auction next month... http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1971-PONTIAC-GTO-CUSTOM-CONVERTIBLE-179943
  18. Well... it turns out that rascally Burt Reynolds had two bandit T/A's squirreled away and this second one will be in the same auction as the Rockford Firebird! I'll have find out when this auction is on next month so I can set my DVR. Two famous Pontiacs at one auction, pretty cool! https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail.cfm?lot_id=FL0115-204102
  19. So you lost the bidding war on the Bandit T/A ... Well cheer up! You can bid on Jim Rockford's Firebird next month! https://www.mecum.com/collection-detail.cfm?lot_id=FL0115-204101
  20. Filled up this morning for $2.23/gallon! I hear it's under $2 in some states... what's the price in your neighborhood?
  21. The selling price of Burt's Bandit T/A went way beyond the auction company's estimate... http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2014/12/15/burt-reynolds-trans-am-auction-sold/20440425/
  22. I am so sorry... that really sucks.
  23. I tried uploading the pictures here and had the same issue. I re-sized them and that worked, but they really don't show up nearly as good as the originals. Wish I knew what's going on with my PC... Edit 12/17 - Got my upload speed back! Here are the full, un-resized pics...
