  1. What an incredible amount of damage! Nice driving on your part to bring such a severely damaged car to a safe stop... Thanks for sharing!
  2. Do you mind telling telling your story, Jeff?
  3. You are right Frosty... had we been on a highway and this happened, the damage to Black Betty would have been severe. That, however, is nothing to what has been bothering me all day yesterday and still today, and that is the thought of what might have happened to my wife and me and the cars around us had we been on I-81, which, by the way, we were planning to use to get to Martinsburg WV for a cruise-in. It is truly a God thing that it happened in the driveway!
  4. Ghost, when beat this, you will be crowned King G6 of the Earth and Moon!
  5. Ungerdog! Those of you out there in FP land who don't know ungerdog, he has the best looking G6 on the planet! Anyway... I plan to call my mechanic Monday and have him take it on his rollback to his shop. I'll let you guys know what he finds out.
  6. Bad News... Something broke in the left front suspension of the GTO and slammed it to the ground as the wife and I were turning out of the driveway and on to the street. Good News... It happened in the driveway and not on I-81. http://s931.photobucket.com/user/us_strat/slideshow/Broke%20%20GTO?sort=6
  7. Well... that's a very nice Ram version of the Fiat Strada, but I would much rather they bring back THIS Strada... >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KvlypyryHc
  8. Congratulations Gudfinnur, well deserved win and that photo is incredible!
  9. I took Black Betty to a Show in Winchester last Sunday (10/26) and took some pictures. It was a good turnout with 201 registered cars. It was beautiful, cloudless, sunny, and windy (couldn't display Black Betty's sign, dang!). It was so sunny, some of the pictures are a bit overexposed. http://s931.photobucket.com/user/us_strat/slideshow/Show_10_26_14?sort=6

    OK

According to the Hemmings article, the Futurliner had a Detroit Diesel 4 cylinder when built in 1939. When GM brought the Futurliner out for the "Parade of Progress" in 1953, they replaced the diesel with a GMC straight 6 gas engine. The GMC engine was restored along with the rest of the Futurliner. Who knows what became of the original diesel engine...

Here is some more info on the Futurliner and it's restoration: http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2013/06/21/most-original-unrestored-futurliner-goes-under-the-knife-for-full-restoration/

Yeah, a little 6 cylinder for that giant bus! But I guess when it was built in 1939, that OHV 6 was pretty high tech considering pretty much all other engines of that period were flatheads.

Unbelievable restoration! It took them like a year and a half of working on it every day to complete. If you missed it, I'm sure it will be repeated often because that's what the Velocity channel does, lol.
  14. Frosty and Rick should meet up somewhere and get some pictures of their Pontiacs together.

    Got the DVR all set...
  16. Rick... pictures cannot convey how amazing your Goat is in person!
  17. ...agree with JUSTA! That photo is outstanding, Gudfinnur!
  18. I had planned to, but ran out of time this past weekend. However, if things work out for me this coming weekend, I plan to take many pictures. The leaves will be a little past (last week was the peak around here), but still ok.
  19. You are right on, Frosty! It looks like we spend time on opposite sides of WV... perhaps we'll meet in the middle one day.
  20. I took the picture from an overpass on Corridor H (RT.55) in Hardy County. You are looking down and north at Scaggs Run and running parallel to it is Upper Skaggs Run Rd.
  21. The wife and I drove all day today in West Virginia. Driving most any road in West Virginia in the fall is one of my favorites! Here's a picture from today...
  22. Nice little Pontiac collection you got there! Love all the SAP stuff on the GTO.
