  1. Welcome to the site! Great ‘61 Catalina! Love it !!
  2. Couldn’t bring myself to use any other color than the original Pontiac blue metallic.
  3. Agree 100% Frosty ! I’ve always thought it was better to sell to the end user if possible .
  4. I use Plasti-Kote #208 Pontiac Blue. Don’t know if there’s another name for the color.
  5. Merry Pontiac Christmas to all !!
  6. Frosty, it’s my car photographed in front of my house. We bought the ‘59 in November of 1977 with 42,000 miles on it and have had it since then. We have driven it to many POCI conventions and in 1982 (IIRC) we had it in Minnesota where we met Dimitrie and he fell in love with our Bonneville. When I declined his offer of a trade for his car at the show, he began a hunt to find one. Our Bonneville now has 109,000 miles . Dimitrie had an article in Smoke Signals over a year ago about his ‘59. If you talk to Dimitrie, I’m sure he can tell you a lot more about the history of our “twin” ‘59 Bonnevilles.
  7. Frosty, try Tim McGeary ( I hope I spelled it correctly).😉
  8. A few more items you may find interesting. I can’t be the only one here who has or likes to see Pontiac related items. Feel free to join in.
  9. There is a machined flat area on the front of the block below the passenger side head ( possibly under some dirt and grime) that should have 2 letters stamped into it. That 2 letter code will help identify the engine. I’m sure the engine codes are available online.
  10. The engine in the ‘66 (if original) is probably a 389 , but also could be a 421 ! In 1967 the sizes increased to 400 and 428.
  11. Thanks Frosty. Since you like AC here’s my favorite.
  12. Thought I would share some interesting (IMHO) Pontiac related items.
  13. I sent my emblem to Maxwell Enamel in CA for restoration. Not cheap, but excellent work! I was lucky, my dashboard emblem is good enough to use as is.
  14. I sent my grille emblem to be restored about 6 weeks ago and got it back today. Totally happy with the results! Before and after pics.
  15. Unable to post the video on YouTube, but the commercial for the 1967 GTO convertible is among my many favorites. The spokesperson refers to it as “The Ultimate Driving Machine”, a catchphrase BMW used many years later. In fact, at one point during the DeLorean years at Pontiac, BMW stated that they wanted to be the “Pontiac” of Europe.
