Liking all things Pontiac (as most of us do on here), I thought it would be interesting to see pictures of different dealerships large and small. Most had their own style, signs , and architecture, as opposed to the standard corporate look demanded by today’s companies. My 2 pictures are of the Paul S. Spaar Pontiac-Buick dealership in Chapel, PA , my closest dealer as I was growing up. The first is the rear corner of the showroom on new car introduction day for 1949. Second pic is the showroom in 1950. Always loved the huge porcelain and neon sign on the front! Post whatever you run across from personal photos to something you may have seen online.

Thanks for the great pics from both you and Justa6! Frosty, I didn’t think Dimitrie would have installed the steering wheel yet. He had said that he likes looking at it and the original box it came in 😉. Don’t know if he (or you) had time for him to tell you about the first time we met at the Minnesota POCI convention and he saw my ‘59 and wanted to trade his ‘63 SD Catalina for it. Looks like you had a good show despite the threat of bad weather.

Congratulations!! Great looking Star Chief Vista!

Thanks for asking, Frosty. The show went very well. For the first time in many years there was no threat of rain so we gladly put up with the heat and humidity. 147 GM cars and trucks attended with about 10 flea market vendors. This is a “no awards” event with door prizes and of course food and a DJ. I will soon post pics on the Pontiac Car Show. -
Thanks Kiwi. That ‘55 is actually a Safari.

Went to York Saturday, June 5, for the NSRA Nationals East. We’ve been going to this show since the 2nd year it started (in the ‘70’s). Not the same event it was in its heyday (around 3500 cars and 2 large buildings full of parts vendors plus a fair size flea market) but still plenty of cars to look at. Here’s some of the Pontiacs in attendance and 1 extremely nice ‘32 Ford .

Sorry, but this flier may be a little misleading. To be clear, you CAN register day of show. -
Car show and flea market hosted by the Keystone State Chapter POCI. All years GM vehicles are welcome. Hope to see you there!

A little more progress. 17” Derale clutch fan with a shroud made from old metal shelves. Modified the stock headlight bar and custom made the headlight stands to fit the Guide 682-C headlights. Installed the tach and ‘55 DeSoto gauges.

By now I’m sure most of us on this site realized that today is 4/21 and it’s significance to us old school Pontiac people! ( should have posted earlier today)

Sedan deliveries in US 1949 through 1953 and in Canada up to at least 1958.

Engine harness connector
31pontiac replied to Andy H's topic in Pontiac General Discussion/Questions
You might try Jurassic Classic Auto Parts (jcaparts.com). I had luck with them finding an ignition switch connector for my 1959 Pontiac . -
https://www.classicautomall.com/vehicles/2299/1926-pontiac-hood-ornaments Ran across this collection of Pontiac hood ornaments for sale. Thought maybe some of you might like to see it.

2 Pontiac station wagon barn finds!

Thanks Frosty. Yes , an automatic choke would have been easier, but I wanted period ( ‘60’s ) looking dual quads (AFBs). My engine builder found this pair of Carter 500’s online with no automatic choke and I said OK. I like the SD 421 inference.
-
Not enough room in the dash for all of the gauges and switches so I made 2 “accessory“ panels , one to house the choke and ‘61 Pontiac ignition switch and the other for the A/C controls.
-
The A/C unit under the dash left no room for the manual choke cable to be routed to the right side of the rear carb to meet the choke lever so I designed a bellcrank assembly to fit under the rear edge of the carburetor to do the job.
