Congratulations! Great car!

I went to the Wheels of Time Street Rod Association show in Macungie, PA Friday and Saturday. It used to be just for ‘63 and older hot rods and customs but when the attendance numbers started dropping several years ago, they opened it up to almost anything up to 1986. Over 1600 vehicles on display this year, good turnout, but still down from the glory days of well over 2000.

It did work! Thanks LawMan, and congrats!! Lots of nice cars there, that black ‘63 Tempest wagon really caught my eye.

Anyone on here attend any of these events that might have pictures to share. I don’t do Facebook, and coverage of these events for those of us who weren’t there has been sadly lacking on most Pontiac sites.

IMG_5546.MOV Eventful weekend! Son-in-law did some last minute temporary wiring, I installed the battery tray, battery, and a makeshift lawnmower gas tank. Here’s the video of the first drive !!

I attended this show today and will be there again tomorrow. I know you all like pics on here so here’s a few. First some of the Pontiacs there and then some of the “offbrands” that caught my eye.

All years invited. Sunday, October 2, 2022. See attached flier for details. For those who may also want to attend Hershey while in the area, their flea market starts on Tuesday the 4th and ends with the car show on Friday the 7th.

We went to this show on Friday evening. Despite the ongoing heatwave, there were more than 300 vehicles in attendance. Here are a few of the Pontiacs there. To my surprise, the “Temptress”, a 1964 Tempest built on the TV show “Bitchin’ Rides” also participated in the event. Although this style of build may not be one of my favorites, the Kindig It Design shops eye for design, proportion, quality, and attention to detail are second to none. Impressive!!

Thanks for the positive comments guys. We are trying to keep that ‘60’s era hot rod feel and get one more old Pontiac out of the garage and out on the road.

Thanks. And yes, I am getting anxious. Hopefully will have basic wiring and a gas tank soon so I can give it a drive to make sure things work as they should before tearing it all apart for paint.

More plumbing. Brake and fuel lines. The pictures don’t show the time, tubing, and trips to the local NAPA for the correct fittings to get to this point, but I finally got to where I’m happy with the results. My son-in-law helped me fill and bleed the brake system. After several hours of chasing leaks and finally replacing 2 lines we now seemingly have cured that issue (although I still keep pumping the pedal and checking for brake fluid 🤔).

My 1931 Pontiac sport coupe hot rod, with a ‘69 Pontiac 428 with dual quads, Turbo 350, narrowed ‘57 Pontiac rear, 3” chop, ‘66 Austin-Healey bucket seats, and ‘55 DeSoto gauges.

After our high-speed ferry trip across Lake Michigan and graduation party/ family reunion, we headed south to Pontiac, Illinois for a Tim Dye guided tour of POMARC. I’m sure some of you have been there, but for those who haven’t, it is an amazing collection of Pontiac and Oakland cars, literature, memorabilia, promotional items, signs, and many other things that I am probably forgetting. Tim took us beyond the normal museum into the “behind the scenes” basement and upstairs behind “behind the scenes”. It was AWESOME! After seeing this, I just know the Pontiac MI museum will be just as good, if not better!

Hi Frosty, thanks for the welcome. Sorry we couldn’t get together with any of you while we were there, it was a whirlwind tour on the way to Wisconsin. I agree, PTM is a work in progress , but still very interesting to me. I can certainly see the potential that building has and enjoyed seeing the various vehicles and items currently “on display”. As a side note, the large Oakland Pontiac sign was donated to the museum by the widow of my late close friend, Frank Kemp. The Gilmore was amazing! As you stated, it’s close to nothing, but well worth the effort to get there! The cars, displays and buildings were incredible and I would highly recommend it. We certainly would have spent more time there if we could have. Haven’t been to Stohl’s, but we have been to Henry Ford and Greenfield Village and the Flint Museum when we went to our second POCI convention in Detroit 1979. I’m sure things have changed a bit since then!

Next we headed west to the Gilmore Museum. Amazing place with a wide variety of vehicles in great displays.

That would have been great. I am sure we will cross paths in the future.

We took a road trip in early June to Wisconsin for our niece’s high school graduation party and toured 3 museums during our travels. First stop was the yet unopened Pontiac Transportation Museum. Terry Connolly graciously showed us around.
