  1. A Riddler Great 8 finalist - '50 Chevy pickup called Heirloom A Pro street LS-powered '69 GTO Judge A cool old school altered dragster....looks like a model a might have built as a kid. An original old school gasser '54 Corvette - #636 built. A freshly restored '69 GTO Judge with a white top and interior
  2. About 10 or so years ago a speed shop in my neck of the woods called Hardcore Performance got ahold of one of the last remaining unjumped General Lee cars built for the show. The jumped it more spectacularly than this. Hazard purist were ticked because it was built by the production company and, in their opinion, was worthy of being saved. Truth is the car was rather rotten on the inside. There was a lot of rust in structural places once I got a chance to look at the car up close after the jump and it was declared safe. It would have been a major restoration to save that car, well more than it was worth, even it being an R/T car. Ii will admit that I have been so wrapped up in things in NC last week I didn't even hear about this General Lee jump until just now. Lastly, Hardcore Performance built the fastest LS powered Firebird back in the day. However, the Feds closed them down, seized their assets, and sold them at a government auction because the owners had engaged in and were convicted of mortgage fraud over several years. Many employees never got their last pay check.
  3. No problem Ringo. I love this stuff, as you well know.
  4. You're welcome Joe....wish i had more time to walk around and talk to more folks. Alas the Dad thing took priority.
  5. Here is some pics.... A perfectly restored triple black '70 GTO How about Pallidium silver Ram Air V GTO Judge? Fiero Pace Car This an awesome highly customized '54 Kaiser Manhattan 4-door called the Voodoo Sahara. It's hard to find much of the original Kaiser. I think this is one of my favorite cars at the show give all the modifications. The little 'Robby the Robots' didn't hurt either. I found this downstairs...a highly modified Korean War era Dodge ambulance. What makes this more interesting is this vehicle was literally pulled out of a snow field in January. So it was built in the last 6 weeks.
  6. More pics.... "Big Daddy" Ed Roth's original pickup truck, freshly restored. It has a Packard V8 in it. It was documented in a recent issue of Hot Rod. The front bumper is the original pinstriping done by Big Daddy. The Fire Truck....I remember building the model kit from Monogram as a kid. The Baja Bandetto - a Roth-like custom car - very similar to the original Beatnik Bandit Huh....I didn't realize GE had been through here..... The Imperial that Chrysler never, but should have built. The diagram next to the car that shows what sections of the original car were used was fascinating. One bad C-10...got air? Legendary car customizer Gene Winfield working with a local community college to chop the top of a '50 Lincoln 4 inches.
  7. Here are my photos from this year's Detroit Autorama. Enjoy! First up.....this is dedicated to stratman and his wife Nancy. I believe this to be Black Beauty II. A black on black '68 GTO! Tom Wopat and Catherine Bach from the original Dukes of Hazzard TV show were guests at the show. So replicas of the Duke vehicles were on display as well. An actual jumped General Lee Na na na na na na na na na Batmobile
  8. Ok Last Indian, you got my attention. I have not seen Corsairs like this since 1996 went I was in Sun Valley Idaho skiing. I had the opportunity to go with some friends two hours out of town to meet a man who restores old warbirds. He was finishing a Corsair, had a P-51, and a Bearcat. I was in aviation heaven. Thanks for sharing these photos.
  9. Hi Rich. Could you snap some photos of your hinges please? Do you still have your old hingles? Have you compared them side-by-side? It sometimes to see the problem first hand. Also, who or where did you purchase the new hinges? Were they specifically for the HO/RAM AIR hood? I am hoping you purchased them from a quality OER catalog company like OPGI, YearOne, National Parts Depot, etc.
  10. Welcome to FP Auto and the madness. Please share some pictures of your ride.
  11. I already knew that. GE has already told me that I am taking back stump water for me and notallthere. Be careful what you say next Pro.....it can arranged to be shipped Mo-Re-Al too. Then you will know just how close to battery acid stump water can really be.
  12. Pete reports there was no DeWalt drill. He appreciates the tip. He asked me if he should claim 24-pack he just put in the fridge. I told him to claim the 20-year old scotch instead.
  13. Medium rare. Cold red center is rare, warm red center is medium rare. Everybody knows that. Dessert was strawberry cheesecake.
  14. I agree with JUSTA. No harm, no foul in my book by putting them on.
  15. Did not! However, I still think you are the reason it's on the menu in the first place. At least this time you didn't order a double helping of fried okra. It freaked the family out the last time. I got to meet Mrs. GE tonight. What a pleasant lady! So sorry she is so horribly banged up. I guess I will need to send her another Sander's Bumpy cake to get well.
  16. It appears that you have the base stock rims. The Pontiac center caps you show were used on high optioned Grand Ams. Since you have the GT, and not the GXP version, it's possible the original owner ordered the stock wheels, and was not willing to pay for the different wheels.
  17. Thanks notallthere. I will let Pete know that. Thanks Pro. That is essentially what Pete told me.
  18. Pete emailed late last night. He got checked out at the hospital. He has a broken rib for his efforts. Pro - Pete is a big blogger on Canadian Ponchos. Is he saying anything else over there?
  19. Ringo, thanks for posting the great car pictures and crinked neck!
  20. My buddy Pete who lives in Northern Toronto (known as DualQuadPete in a lot of the Canadian Pontiac forums) just emailed me today. It would seem that his shop caught fire on Thursday and his '52 Pontiac, '69 Cutlass convertible, and vehicle trailer appear to be a total loss. The fire chief says he thinks the fire might have started with either the beer fridge or the stereo. The insurance company is working with Pete. Pete is okay other than he slipped on the ice and hurt his hip trying to fight the fire until the fire got too bad. I'd appreciate it if you guys could keep Pete in your thoughts and prayers tonight. This obviously not something any car guy should have to go through.
  21. Let me know the details on the LED bulbs JUSTA. Where did you find them? How much? How many does your car need? LED bulbs are on the bucket list for Lucy. Last time I was at NPD they had returned all of their LED bulbs due to quality issues. So I am not sure where to go with that plus I understand since LEDs drawn less current you have to put a resistor in the light circuit otherwise they flash quicker (now some bulbs now have a small resistor in them to resolve this problem).
