  1. I didn't realize the Lauertians had that much cloud-t.
  2. You might want to give a week update too. These things are suppose to have a self-winder that draws a small amount of battery current to wind the clock periodically.
  3. This would be huge if GM decides to exit the European market entirely! While Vauxhall is still around, most models are re-badged/re-engineered Opels with left-hand drive. Holden is all but gone as well. Perhaps GM is considering becoming a North American and Asia only car company? South and Central American operations are still money losers too. http://www.cnbc.com/2017/02/15/general-motors-could-exit-europe-with-1-billion-opel-sale-to-peugeot-analyst.html After making billions of dollars in losses since the start of the century, General Motors may be ready to off load Opel to French automaker PSA Group for about $1 billion, according to analysts at Evercore ISI......
  4. I assume this is from the Nor'easters that the east coast has been getting hammered with of late.
  5. It's been a screwy winter here in Michigan. The weather has been alternatingly warm (above freezing) and cold. Somedays in lower Michigan we get snow and other days we get rain. The Great Lakes have not frozen over at all this year, while two years ago we had a record cold winter where the lakes froze over completely for the first time in decades. Now to prove it, the National Weather Service published this satellite photo of Michigan indicating where the snow fall is and isn't. Clearly there is a dividing line between southern and northern lower Michigan. Right now there is a light dusting of snow in my driveway from an overnight lake effect squall. Other than that, there is no snow on the ground. This weekend, the temperature is expected to be in the low 50s and that dusting will be history. So JUSTA6, Indymanjoe, notallthere (Mr. Sarnia Ontario) and I have not had too much to shovel this winter) thankfully.
  6. Call YearOne....I don't recall what they charged me years ago and their catalog doesn't list a price today. They list a "tach/clock gauge repair/reface/conversion service." https://www.yearone.com/Catalog/1964.72.gto/electrical/gauges_switches/gauge-repair_reface-services_conversion The number is 1-800-YEARONE. I haven't checked to see if NPD, OPGI, AMES, or Performance Years offers a comparable service.
  7. Joe - here is an old picture of my stock Rally gage cluster with the original stock steering wheel still in place. My clock does not have the word "Rally" but it does have the 24 hour labeling. I have the original MSRP sticker (plus the PHS documentation) for the car so I know the car was built with Rally gages and clock. So your clock appears correct to me.
  8. Candy apple red little boys? Root beer brown perhaps?
  9. Thanks Joe. Damn though it's got a blower. It pegs my macho motor button even if it's not a Pontiac motor. Blown and nitrous.....sweeeeeet!
  10. Welcome to FP. As usual, the wallet dictates most things. Have you thought about what models or features of classic Pontiac you are looking for? Are you trying to find another '64 Tempest/Lemans? Do you want to move up to a big car link a Grand Prix/Catalina/Bonneville/2+2? A convertible perhaps? Do you want something with more performance panche like a GTO, Firebird, or Trans Am? Modern performance and features like the 2004-2006 GTO, the G8, or Solstice perhaps? Lots of thing to consider. It helps to start making your list of models/features now. Then you can go online and do some comparison price shopping. Classified ads in the Pontiac Oakland Club International (POCI) list cars that are for sale all across the country. The GTO Association of America (GTOAA) similarly lists GTOs, Judges, and GT-37's for its members. Ebay and Craigslist are also other sources to look. Depending on where you live, various reputable auto auctions are another potential source for a good used Pontiac. Local car clubs, car shows, and cruises often are good sources near you too.
  11. More pics. A blown Hemi-powered Ford C-cab custom. Gorgeous '56 Chevy 4-door surf wagon. Note the ghost flames! An Eleanor Super Snake. I am not sure who built it. It is supercharged and it also has nitrous and 5-point harness seat belts. The Grand National next to it is really an original '87 GNX. It is number 506 of 547 built and it was delivered locally to Ron Slivka Buick of Grand Blanc Michigan (now Al Serra Buick-GMC). The price of a Grand National in 1987 was $18,295.00. The GNX package added another $10,995.00, for a total of $29,290.00 MSRP!
  12. We had a car show up here in the north called Chrome and Ice at our local hockey arena. The arena sports an Ontario Hockey League (OHL) team called the Flint Firebirds. The show was put on by the same organizers that do the Back to the Bricks events in Flint that are a complementary/alternative events to the Woodward Dream Cruise every year. The arena has two hocley rinks and it filled them both with 104 cars. In two weeks it will be time for the Detroit Autorama. First off - a Knight Industries Two Thousand (a.k.a. KITT) was there. This one was LS powered. What I liked about it was the fact that they painted the Knight Industries logo on the engine cover on both sides plus the Knight symbol on the armrest. This is one the best KITT replicas I've seen. This one is just pure drool factor for me. Here is a '72 Lemans that the guy has had since high school. It sports a blown big block Chevy (dang it!) with air conditioning and nitrous. The windows are heavily tinted so you can't see the interior from the outside. I was luck enough to talk to owner and he popped the door open for me to see inside (since the door handles are shaved) and showed me his custom dash. He works for Continental Tire and they purchased VDO gages from Siemens a few years ago. He was given this dash/gages free from his company! They look great. The paint is a custom mix of Lucerne Blue with some metal flake and pearl added in. I asked him what was inspiration for the black "bumblebee" stripe. He said "let's try this and see what it looks like". He said he when he first purchased the spoiler, they placed on the deck lid of a buddy's lime green Dodge Dart, therefore he had to go buy a second one for this car. Now there is a Dodge Dart out there somewhere with a Pontiac spoiler on it! Here is a unique T-bucket. Ever see one with a Lincoln Zephyr flathead V-12 in it? The owner says he has four spares! Also note - this car has no speedometer, just oil, gas, and water gages.
  13. Happy birthday 360! BTW - Don autographed my two books and he's already sent them back.
  14. You need to post pictures of them more often then sunshine. That way Ghost knows you are alive and contracting melanoma or wearing SPF 1000.
  15. Come to think of it, does Ringo ever go to a Pontiac show these day? Especially since he has the (dare I say it?) Camaro?
  16. I would love to see restoration progress pictures.
  17. Thanks, mind you a lot of that change was not 100% my choice. You will have to share your story with me sometime. I am always interested to know what my fellow car friends have done or do for a living.
  18. Bozhe moi! Welcome to FP Omnidrift. Can't wait to see what you have to post on your car.
  19. Not that time, just a loose nut behind the steering wheel. Let's just say they took the long way, not the wrong way.
