  1. Oh my. I don't blame you for not being lower! I'd hold off on those sway bars until they hopefully get to work on some of your roads, too!
  2. *crickets* I'd still take the Aztek over the Grand Am, as long as it's AWD.
  3. They didn't actually manufacture them as sedans here in the states; the one Mark and I saw in '08 had come over from Ontario. I like them, though, but they weird me out because I'm not used to seeing them! I have the AEM CAI, I like the sound and responsiveness. I haven't gotten to my exhaust setup yet, but that will happen likely later this year. I have begun gathering parts for a Neon rear disk swap as well. I also have sway bars that need to be installed. Haha. We sound like twins! All in all, it sounds like you have a good plan for her. Very reasonable modifications for a daily driver, which is why I've picked mostly the same ones for my car, as well!
  4. Taken at a meet on April 21: I'll stop jacking your thread, now
  5. Sweet! I inspired someone! (Or, YC did, anyway.) I want to see yours running, too! Hopefully the Fiero Gods send some luck our way.
  6. The last generation Sunfire looks so crazy as a sedan to me! She looks really nice, though; clean, simple, well done. I have never seen those particular Z24 wheels on our generation Sunfire, either, but they look surprisingly nice. Is your emblem black or gray? Welcome to Forever Pontiac!
  7. A W-body douche, or just a douche?
  8. My cousin posted a link to this on facebook. I replied, "Forget the car, I want to marry that guy!" I still laugh out loud when I look at it. I have it saved to my computer.
  9. You're welcome! My dad has a red 88 GT. She only has about 26k miles on her. All original; we even still have the original tires mounted on the original wheels! That car is a DREAM. I don't blame you for having a thing for them
  10. The lift was a gift from my grandfather when the adoption of my little brother went through. I think grandpa's logic was, "Jenni (my stepmom) gets a kid; here, you guys get something too!" Either way, we are so grateful that we have it. It would have been handy to have had when we replaced YC's clutch last May! Thank you! I'm beginning to think we need some luck. If the engine is okay, I will drive YC through this year, and we would probably begin the swap next summer. If she can make it to the Dells Run this year and/or next, I want her to be there. That show is always the first weekend of June. I know that once the engine swap starts she won't be seeing pavement for awhile due to my and my dad's busy (and somewhat conflicting) schedules. My only other option was my Nikon D90 which I don't want to risk harming in the shop!
  11. Your T/A looks great, I have a vast love for these T/As in particular because of their resemblance to the Fiero PPG pace cars. Now THOSE were sex on wheels. I know a guy with three of them. I have a soft spot for Subarus, especially SVXs and XTs.
  12. Two Sundays past, on April 22, my dad and I started working on my little Yellow Car. First, we had to rearrange the shop and get rid of some useless items that were taking up space; this in itself took a few hours, which ate into our precious time with YC. After we had her up on the lift, getting to the oil pan proved to be quite the task. The ingenious design of the lower engine mount on the passenger side is such that it wraps underneath the oil pan, and then is blocked from removal by the A/C compressor bracket and alternator bracket. Before we started messing with too many parts and brackets, we drained the oil. Of course, my iPhone picture can't capture the full effect of what we found, but in short, my oil looked more like gunmetal paint with metal flake than used oil. It would have been pretty if it were paint. This was a pretty disparaging thing to find, but after much deliberation, my dad and I decided to carry forward with replacing the oil pump and fully reassembling to see if the engine is toast or not. It was fairly smooth sailing with parts removal until we hit the blasted A/C compressor, which legitimately ate up two hours of our time. We had to leave YC with her oil pan still in place, but with everything else out of the way. This was certainly a learning experience, and we didn't even accomplish what we intended! (Such is the automotive enthusiast's life, I suppose.) Since I live three hours from my dad, it's not easy to get together to work on the car. He has already picked up our new oil pump/balance assembly unit from Rodney Dickman and will be dropping the oil pan as soon as he finds the opportunity. I will be present to help if I can be, but finding the time and money to make it down there is a challenge at best. I'm hoping to have a final determination on the Iron Duke's future by the end of May so we can move forward with either dissecting the Cavalier or finishing up the fuel system on Yellow Car. The Dells Run is June 1-3. I'm not counting on YC making it this year, but my dad and I will be there with his red 88 GT.
  13. Morgan, you worry too much It is hard to get work done on YC since I'm three hours away from her. I'll post updates in her thread one of these days!
  14. I don't think our precious Phoenix-loving Mikey-poo would dare do that to us!
  15. Oh. My. Lord. First and foremost, welcome to the forum! I checked out your garage and WOW, your cars are beautiful. I have a soft spot for Sunbird hatchbacks, and this is a true beauty. Look at how much time you have put into it! Fun fact: I was born in Pontiac, Michigan! My grandfather worked for Pontiac. His name is Thomas Goad and he was the Manager of Special Vehicles. He worked for Chevrolet before he moved to our beloved division.
  16. There is not a thing about this beautiful car I would change. Wow. I am serious when I say, if for any reason this car goes up for sale, I hope I know about it. I've never fallen for a classic quite like I have for this one!
  17. Mark and I were driving around a couple days ago and saw a blue Phoenix! It made me think of you and reminded me to get back on this forum!
  18. My current definition of "done" for this car is when Mike crosses everything off his current checklist. I'm sure he'll have plenty more lists in the future!
  19. I literally smile every time I see this car. Every. Time. Sometimes, it's exhausting, considering I live with the thing
  20. I have a friend in Philadelphia right now, who has been there for a couple weeks but will be back in a week or so. I should have put two and two together and realized you live in the area- I could have gone to visit you both! Meeting this car in person is almost on my bucket list. At this rate, it will officially be on my bucket list once you're "done."
