We're in Paradise my friend, which geographically about 1500kms South of the great @Fitzy

I'll define my "Paradise" claim for those whom may be wondering...

1. As far North (on the East Coast) as you can go where you can still get good surf regularly

2. Speaking of surf...you can actually swim in the ocean here year around (water temps typically 22-28 degrees) without fear of a) microscopic jelly fish that can stop your heart upon contact, b) boat size crocodiles that have the capacity to swallow you whole, but still much rather tear you to bits first (uneccesary, really), c) tiger sharks as big as Japanese mini-subs, that can travel at the speed of light, d) regular weekly rainfall figures that outdo most Rainforests annual stats, e) annual cyclone seasons, f) constant, ridiculously high humidity that has mushrooms growing on any organic matter that stops moving for longer than 30 seconds (yes, that includes your underarms and ballsack)

😁

Yea I'll stick with Michigan, 4 out of 5 Great lakes can't be wrong!   No salt, no sharks, no worries......Pure Michigan.

Tearin it RUPP

We trade stoplight to stoplight drag racing for island to island on frozen lakes.

Fewer cops and speed traps that way.

That looks like a whole lot of dangerous fun 😈 The best kind 🤙

I put my new personalized plates on Lucy and Violet yesterday. They finally came in. They were ordered over a month ago.

In case you are wondering about NV10LET, this car's color is called Plum Crazy Purple, a throw back color to the 70s. The same color on a Plymouth was called Inviolet.

Oh and I got a tad pissed regarding the water intrusion into my garage from outside. The cement slab the garage floor is on half an inch lower than the outside slab! I really need to bitch at the property management company about this. I am seriously not happy. This is not the first time either.

The brain dead guy who poured that concrete should pay !

I was told the cement company went out of business shortly after this job. However in the years since, the property manager has done nothing about it either.

Ok, I have a couple of things to add here (the requisite photos shown below) 🤙

Last we spoke I think I was still on the hunt for some front indicator lenses and reverse light lenses? Well... California Pontiac Restoration came through for me (thanks Jerry) 🙏

As with many of the parts providers, I asked that they get in touch if their (nil) stock levels for these items changed. I have had this request out for well over 12 months to all the usual suspects, to no avail. No more than a few days after I was on here, Jerry got in touch saying he was expecting a very limited delivery of said parts, and if I was still interested to get in touch. I did, and now I have brand new lenses all round. I got a little excited and fitted 18w instead of 8w globes to the reverse lights, because now I  can actually see when I reverse, & they're usually not on long enough to blow globes or melt lenses 😁

Also, I sent the clock back to the repairer again, as it stops and starts sporadically. Annoying, particularly when I think of how much I paid to have to restored. He apologised, and turned to around within 7 days (I know, unheard of - right?). What a legend! So some of the photos are of the (working) clock reinstalled too 😎

Finally, there are a couple of photos of the plugs I've just pulled, to fit new ones as it’s coming to the time of year when we’ll be doing a few trips. These ones have done @ 2500miles. Given this was their second insertion (I clean, regap & reuse once) they look pretty good. Running Pertronix Ignitor module in oem (recurved) distributor, Striker 45,000v coil, and a 100a alternator - I think the combination is just about spot on. The spark plug tool is where the fan would be, so plugs on the left right 1357, left 2468 😊

There will be another post coming shortly which I'm quite excited about, but won't even hint at it in case I jinx the process. You'll just have to wait 🤷‍♂️

Slow, but its finally getting warm enough to star working on her again. I changed the fuel pump last week to a bigger Holly electric and got the pressure set at 6-7psi justa to start her up. Battery didn't have enough to crank so it's on the charger. I also noticed a brake line leaking so got underneath her today to figure out exactly what was leaking and called the parts house today. So, it's going, justa really slow brother.

i am really lucky as its warm here at the moment ... but the cold is on its way south !!!

my issue is time !!! i looked on the net, ebay, craiglist and no one has any for sale !!!

i would gladly buy at least a month if i could find it !!!

the 400 block is all bubble wrapped up ready to send to the machine shop .... i have a very good lead on a xe code 389 block and 093 closed chamber heads.... the guy wants 900 for.. so thats a road trip ... dont tell the boss :naughty:

so my plan is if the 400 block doesnt pass crack testing ,,,we are running with a 389 block !!!

i am  really excited !! its my first pontiac engine build

i remember when you fired your motor for the first time and shared it with us.... so excting !

Yeah, I'm excited for you bro! I can wait to watch you go thou everything.

I'm determined to get her on the road this year. I'd still like to driver her to Detroit, but the big push right now is my son justa turned 16. I would like to take him to the parking lot and let him do a lap, slowly, very slowly. Then start the real driving lessons in my truck . But I think it would be really awesome for him to be able to tell people the first car he EVER drove was a 63' Pontiac that he helped build. And yes, I know that's probably insane, but one day it will make a great memory.

Fired the GTO N pulled her out.  It was NOT happy to be down for a couple years.  SMOKIN like a Canadian wildfire.  Missing, trans was full (reason it was parked was not shifting out of 1st) Did NOT attempt to re-configure the TV antenna (it might have slipped)  But also fired the Sunbird, traded parking spots so I can start on that to get ready for the Widetracker Dustoff on Saturday.  They are calling for rain showers all day.  Bird doesn't like to get wet and run properly, The light trigger module tends to fry in the Mallory dist.  Can't miss the show.

The noise the pump made when it took a shit tells me it's not an electrical issue, but would like to check N see if its maybe a fuse or bad switch or something.  Have dinner at my daughters today instead.  Would like to wish all ya Mutha's a Happy Fathers Day!!  Including my son in laws 1st.

Picked up another fuel pump.   Started putting it together, realized I would need to crawl under and see what I need to install.  Pulled the quick disconnect wiring and crawled out to get the tester.   No power at the pump.  Sooo damn hot in the garage I can't stand it.  Regular breaks to get in the house to cool off.  Start at fusebox, all good.  Pulled dash apart N checked switches.  Have power going to fuel pump.  Tried to run pump off a battery. NADA.  Might be cooler today after all the rain.  Will try after kiddos take their nap.

Worked on the wife's Hummer H3 today. Two problems, one is there a crap ton of what coming in on the passenger side. The second is the wipers and radio sometimes come on after she has taken the key out and closed the door. Very bizzare.

I read on the Hummer forums that the wiper/radio is caused by a fault door sensor. Once a door is open, the remote accessories are supposed to shut off but clearly are not. A ordered and received a replacement driver door switch and installed it with dielectric grease. The old switch didn't look that bad.

Again consulting the forums on the water in the passenger side footwell is often caused by the drain holes/tubes for the power sliding window gets clogged. I took off the passenger side interior A-pillar cover and I discovered that the tube is not properly connected. I pushed the two tubes together and then wrapped them in electrical tape (I didn't have an duct tape handy).

I then vacuumed and use 303 Protectant on the entire interior. I even topped the car up with gas.
