No need for a dealer, most Autozones can loan you one, just need to put money down.

im in canada .we dont have autozones. we have partssource and they dont even have them and i cant find anyone here who sells them. i might just tow my van with the sv6 so my school auto shop and get them to scan it.

The U-body shares more in common with the W-body as far as components go. The engine itself, is identical, aside from some sensors in different spots, and the EGR system setup differently. The ECM also is tuned differently than the N-body ECM, the U-body LA1 makes 185HP versus the N-body spec of 175HP. Other than that, same LA1 for the most part. You can use an LA1 from an Impala, Monte Carlo, Grand Am, Alero or other U-body van, just need to setup the sensors accordingly.

most of the power increase is from the tune. looking at the spark tables for both a 99 GAGT and a 99 Montana and the Montana has a more aggressive spark table and that's not really digging in the file much.
