1960 Pontiac Ventura Sports Coupe. It has a 389 cu. in. with tripower and 4 speed BW T-10 transmission...high optioned car. I am the third owner. It's an absolute dream to drive. I attend as many Car Shows, Cruise-Ins, and Cars and Coffee events as I can in my local area. Rick Pumphrey

Sure thing...for your enjoyment. My grandson in the bottom right picture will eventually inherit the car. The toon was drawn by Dan Hughes. I show the car as often as possible. Enjoy your Pontiacs as often as possible. Thanks for showing interest in the Ventura. Rick

Love your Ventura!  I believe you were parked behind my ‘59 Bonneville at the Performance Years car show several years ago, and also saw it at NCAC’s Burdette Brothers Pontiac show.  Your grandson looks like he is already enjoying his inheritance ! !

Hi 31pontiac,

I recently purchased the Ventura...so it wasn't me. The previous owner had the car for ~20 years. It may have been him, but I doubt it. The owner before him was in California...so I don't think it was him either.

This is the car I saw at the Burdette show in VA in 2021.  You can see the resemblance, but you do have a lot more options in the interior.  Can’t see for sure in your photos, do you also have the 1959 Tri-Power emblems behind the wheels on the front fenders?

Yup, I stand corrected...that's the car. Not many had the Guide-matic. This is when the second owner had it. He liked running the GTO style air cleaners and had the under dash chrome guage cluster on the left hand side of the steering column. I didn't think he would drive the car that far to a show. Thanks for sharing. Rick

Damn that’s cool that 31pontiac remembers this car. Now that is an awesome story!

Your Ventura reminds me of my friends in WV, they once owned a brand new ‘59 Bonneville convertible, red with a white top, triple red tone interior, removable radio. Sadly it was totaled in ‘61. She still has the removal radio. You car looks a lot like the photos I’ve seen of their car. Glad to see you enjoying it.

To 31pontiac,

Yes, it has the '59 Tripower emblems behind the front wheels. The other giveaways that it is the same car:

The '60 Bonneville "oh sh*t" dash handle bar, the '62 Pontiac "soft back" bucket seats, the '62 Pontiac dash mounted Tach, the headliner map light, and of course the prementioned Guide-matic. I'm amazed that you still remember the car...lol. Rick

sooo cool !! Rick !! you have a fantastic car ! :dancingpontiac:

Frosty,   it’s hard for me to forget a 4-speed ‘60 Ventura!  It’s the first year Pontiac offered a 4-speed stick and IIRC it was later in the model year.

Rick,   your car is awesome!  Hope to meet you and see it again sometime.

Just adding more pics...lol. The last picture is my 1967 Pontiac GTO that I used to street race. About the 1975 era. The picture is not very clear, but it had a "printed circuit" design on the side panels and a "lace" design on the sail panels trick paint job; because that's what we did back then...lol.
