Hi and thanks for letting me In, I am new to Pontiac but not new to classic muscle cars. I have recently taken possession of a 1970 GTO H/O 455 Convertible which needs lots and lots of tlc.

Being in the UK parts are rare, knowledge is even rarer but the enthusiasm isn't.

So I hope you will welcome me into the fold and give me as much information about these beautiful vehicles.

Thanks

:welcomeFP:

Good to have you aboard! Very much looks like it needs some love but you'll find plenty of knowledge, support, and hopefully parts here :) .

Welcome to FP.  Talk it up with us in the forums, awesome bunch of friends here from around the world. You'll fit right in.

Lucky for you that parts for the '70 GTO are very plentiful here in the states. So other than paying hostage level shipping prices, you can get mostly what you need here across the pond.

Talk it up in the forums. We'd love to see your progress.

Wow - you have your hands full with that little number but they are great cars - it'll be worth it.

As Frosty noted, prices have gone up for everything - shipping is prohibitive. It might be worth assessing what you anticipate you'll need and stuff as much as you can into a shipping container.

Not sure if the UK is as greedy as Oz but customs will slug you duty on anything over AUD$1000 here. Something to weigh up vs shipping costs.

Ames is Pontiac only & Rockauto are a godsend.

Welcome jeepwilly

tell us about how you scored this gem ?

I see a USA ford truck in the back ground , so there’s gota be a cool story

Welcome, looks like you are about to have some fun.

You might need to take a shopping trip to the US, looks like a good reason, i got buddy's coming over from Europe all the time.

It's probably a better, quicker and cheaper alternative to shipping and you get a break out of it and meet new people .

So it seems after the PHS report it isn't a 455 after all and a 400......the vin is 242670P295283

400 was the standard motor for virtually every GTO from '68 up. The 455 was only an option after '70.
