Thanks guys! Little Jack came into the world on Thursday evening (3-7-2024) via C-section. He weighed nine pounds even (big boy!). He was born with pneumothorax, a collapsed lung. The hospital declared a code blue and 30 people ran into the delivery and labor room, that freaked out my wife and in-laws! They got him stabilized but he was sent to another regional hospital with a top notch neonatal unit. He is breathing comfortably on his own now.

 

As of this morning (Monday), he is doing much better. With any luck, he may be able to come home later today. Fingers crossed.

That's scary! Glad they got him sorted though!

Yeah, it's been stressful. Only my son and his girlfriend have been able to see and hold the baby. No one else has yet because of the restrictions the hospital has on infants in the neonatal unit - Mom and Dad only! I've been dog sitting their golden retriever Riley since Wednesday. Riley went home last night. I can finally put all the dog toys away. Cleaning ladies show on Thursday so vacuum up all the dog hair.

Baby Jack came home yesterday. My wife went to see and hold him for quite some time last night. I was not able to go. I had a dental appointment at the end of the day to fill 2 cavities. So I stayed home with a mouth of Novocain. I will get to see him later on.

So I guess there's no badge.  Was hoping to be GRANDFATHERED in on that one.  I'm already a GREAT Grandpa.
