Chad! i am super impressed !! i want one ! who sells them ?

that looks wayyyy easier than a sanding disc and less heat too !!

It's alot less heat and way faster. Yes it's slow RPM and the drum I was using in that video is their 40grit aggressive drum. But they offer drums in all grits and for everything. The company that sells it is Eastwood, here's a link

No Kiwi, Orielly's is an auto parts store on this side of the big blue ball brother.

Justa, Eastwood told me that I should be able to strip an average car with up to 6 coats of paint in 6-8hrs. In the real world it has taken me about 6-7hrs to strip the front fenders and rear quarters and I used 1 & a 1/2 drums. But also remember, these fenders are almost 6' long and there was body filler that was between a 1/4" & 1/2" thick in places. It justa ate right through it! Your welcome to barrow it Justa, no charge buddy. You justa have to wait for me to finish and Kiwi to use it and return it. He called dibs first bro.

Well I finally got time to get that other chrome piece off of the windshield. The windshield seals are cut and waiting until no chance of rain to pull the glass. The interior is back out also and so the body work begins.

Oh and Justa, it took me 3 & 1/2 drums to strip the entire car down to bare metal bro.

New fenders, I wish bro. I justa shot the fenders and hood in black epoxy primer to keep them from rusting till I get the rest of the body work done. It looks like the only metal that will have to be replaced is the bottoms of the quarters. I was pleasantly surprised that the metal around the windshields was still in really good condition.

Can anybody tell me the proper name of these 4 parts so I can order replacements. Thank you

Pic #1 Is a white piece in the interior that goes in between the back of the door jam and rear inner door panel would go.

Pic #2 Is a red piece in the interior that goes in between the side of the dash and the inner door frame. The interior used to be red and white and the look to be filler pieces.

Pic #3 and #4  are  seal's and when I was ordering the new seals I didn't come across these and didn't know the proper names to look them up.

Thank you again.

hi Mate, first two are wind lace, thats super common and you can use chev stuff.

the next two have a look here on steele rubbers site

https://www.steelerubber.com/search?year=1963&make=pontiac&model=grand-prix&style=2-door-hardtop

but having asid that i bet you could use 63 chev rubbers there too !

that pic # four you could use any flat seal to work as its justA sealing the fender from pushing dirt and water back into the door hinge

Well the spent the day with my son getting the rest of the metal stripped, door jams, inside of the gas cap door, ya know all the little stuff. Popped the front windshield out so both are removed now. As of this morning it showed 10% chance of rain tomorrow, so I went back over the entire car with that Contour SCT to get any surface rust off of her. I figured I would get up early and prep the metal not being replaced so I could shoot the epoxy primer on her to keep her from rusting. As of now, 80% chance of rain tomorrow! 70% chance of rain Monday and 25% Tuesday! I swear this morning it showed sunny skies the next 3 days. Justa dumb luck! Well, what fun would it be if everything always went as planned?

Well, justa in case any of you wide trackers have ever wondered what your baby would look like in flat black, here ya go!

Ok so I got up early and scrubbed every inch of her, then washed her again. Washed her with rust convertor next, smoked a camel and rinsed her clean. Ready to spray something?!!! Nope, the convertor left residue. You can see the yellow, the silver is where I scrubbed. This residue would smudge off with a finger. Scrubbed the whole car down again and dried it. Mixed up epoxy primer, final wipe down with fast evaporating cleaner. Then laid it out! Think I'll let it sit tomorrow and cook in the hot sun and then start the actual body work.

Oh yeah, don't pay attention to the fenders there justa hanging there so I could take pics for yall!
