Well I had to sell my Blue 66 Lemans Sprint to make room for it, I 1st tried to buy this car in 2002. Great body, original paint, Interior is pretty trashed, no engine or Trans. I plan on putting a Aluminum 63 Buick 215 V-8, and T-5 trans in it. What do you think?

Thanks for all the kind words, and moving this post to the proper forum (sorry about that) As for the 66 Lemans I enjoyed it, but it had not been on the road for a few years, it went to a good home were it is getting the attention it deserves. All is good. I still have a 67 Sprint Lemans that may be back on the road next spring.

That looks like a real fun project.

The V8 would be very cool, it is a smaller car, a 60*V6 would be sweet to drop in as well. LZ9 power with the T-5 would be pretty badass. How light are those cars?

Stock with the 2.4 Iron Duke, Automatic And A/C it is supposed to weigh 2650 lbs, The T-5 is about 30 lbs lighter than the M-200 3 speed auto, and the 3.5 Liter Aluminum V-8 is about 80 lbs lighter than the 2.5 four cylinder. So I am looking at about a 2600 lb car with around 300 HP and 4.10 rear gears, it should be fun!!! And with the .062 overdrive in 5th gear, it should also be drivable at highway speeds.

Color me jealous, I have always wanted a 76 or 77 Astre. I like the vega's but I am a bigger fan of the astre's tail lights and grilles.
