  1. So cool, Last Indian! It is small!.. looks like 3/4 scale Vega. Do you remember the time and mph?

  3. Thanks Last Indian... So cool that you raced with John Force. We could not see the crash from where we were sitting, we just saw parts of the body flying up in the air. Watched the replay when we got home, amazing that neither of the drivers were seriously. I think 20 years ago a crash like this one would not have had a happy ending. Praise God for all the safety measures we have today!
  4. Thanks Frosty! Yeah, Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler is quite a place. It is on an Indian reservation, so it has a casino and hotel, as well as a drag strip, a road course, and a lake for drag boats. They do have the Bondurant school, but I didn't bring the $4,200 needed for the three day school.
  5. They are beautiful, LawMan!
  6. I'm in Chandler AZ visiting my daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons. This past weekend (2/24-2/25) my son-in-law, one of my grandsons, and myself, went to qualifying and finals of the NHRA Arizona Nationals at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park. We had awesome seats both days at the start line. Here are the pictures I took, in no particular order, except that the first four are Pontiacs- a '67 Firbird, a '70 Formula, and two pics of a Grand Am Pro Mod. There were a couple of late model GTOs, but the pictures were horrible. The lack of Pontiacs was sad. There is a picture (#7) of John Force (Peak) and Jonnie Lindberg (Head) as they are inching forward to break the staging lights. This is the race where John Force's engine blew up and he crashed into Lindberg. Hope you enjoy the slide show... http://s931.photobucket.com/user/us_strat/slideshow/AZ NATS?sort=4
  7. I did not know AMG did Buicks as well as Mercedes.
  8. I'm going to hold off on an opinion of the C8 styling till I see it with no camo (maybe we are looking at the Cadillac under the camo?). I like that they are going to build the C7 and the C8 (for a few years anyway) making the Corvette a two car lineup, like Ferrari, with front engine and mid-engine models. I'm also glad to see that there is no V6 available (forever, hopefully), only V8's. I think I read (or maybe I made it up, lol), that there will be no bow ties or Chevrolet script to be found anywhere on it making the Corvette a kind of stand alone model, even though they will, of course, be sold only at Chevrolet dealerships.

  10. Great pics...thanks for posting, 31pontiac! I see three late '50s early '60s Lotus Elites in pictures 2 and 6. I feel like I should know what that beautiful red hardtop is in pictures 4 and 5, but I'm drawing a blank.
  11. Looks like a great project. I love '68 GTO's, they are near and dear to me.
  12. Thank you for posting the video, SnoWht95... brings back a lot of good memories. My '93 from back in the day, had the unpainted aluminum wheels and a cloth interior, but otherwise it had all the options yours has. Had I know back then that there were only 719 of these built, I might have tried to hang on to it. I'm rooting for you as you return it to her former glory!
  13. Oustanding pictures as usual, SPRINT 6! '61 bubbletops are one my favorite Pontiacs, love the color combo and the options on this one. Also a big fan of Plum Crazy Mopars... especially like the Challenger with the white vinyl top and white stripes, really makes the PC paint pop! BTW, are you really tall or did you bring a ladder with you?
  14. I now see Thebuddhaman and dale66gto (#7). Thanks, Ringo.
  15. Very nice '65 GTO... the engine is beautiful!
  16. SnoWht95... This brings back fantastic memories for me! I bought GAGT sedan just like this one (except for the painted wheels) brand new back in '93. It is my favorite DD I've owned and wish I still had it. It was a Quad4HO with a five speed, a blast to drive!... 175HP was a good bit of power in '93 especially from a normally aspirated four cylinder... 4,000 rpm to 6,500 rpm was where it really came alive! Gosh... I haven't seen one of these in years. It's rare all right, but rare does not always mean valuable. I'm glad you bought it, you sound like someone who really appreciates these cars. I'm wishing you good luck on this project and please post your progress. Here's mine 24 years ago...
  17. I lack the words to describe this post. You are an incredibly talented man.
  18. Me and the vette went to the last show of the year in my neck of the woods. I guess because it was the last show, there was a great turn out (about 200 cars, which is big for this area). As usual, however, there were only a handful of Pontiacs. I don't know why there are so few classic Pontiacs here is the Shenandoah Valley. You guys in Michigan seem to have tons of Pontiacs at your shows. Oh well... Anyway, the green '69 Firebird 'vert was for sale. It is a restored, numbers matching, documented 350HO car (didn't ask how much $$). Even though we don't have many Pontiacs, the quality of cars here in the valley is outstanding (well... except for the blue ‘79 Corvette in the first picture, thankfully he arrived late and was parked in a corner lot away from the good cars). It was very sunny today, so I had a lot of exposure problems, cleaned them up as best I could in Adobe Lightroom. There are 72 pictures, hope you like them. P.S... There was a '80 Trans Am with a chevy engine, I did not waste my time or storage space on the camera taking pictures of it.
  19. Original paperwork like you have most definitely adds $$$$.
