  1. Why is it that you don't fry guitar equipment the way you do computers? For someone reason I picture you giving your PC "the Pete Townsend treatment" every now and then. Are you sure you didn't run over a critter over with your PC? Was your PC near some sort spontaneous thermal event? Or do we need to default back to the classic ID-10-T error again?
  2. For clarity sake's - what do want a video of getting louder? GE or the Challenger? I personally vote for the Challenger.
  3. OK guys - one guess where I was this afternoon - after a 9 hour drive from Michigan? The museum delivery program starts at 7:45 a.m. CDT tomorrow morning. We are delivery #2 for the day. This is the Corvette we came to see and take delivery of, a 2015 Stringray LT3 convertible w/ the Z51 package. I might even get to press some of the button's. Can you say "sinkhole survivor"? I did find a Pontiac while I was here though....
  4. Yup....why is it that all the Canuckistanies I know send me this sort of jokes? I'd love to blame notallthere or Pro for this, but this came from DualQuadPete in North Toronto. I swear that living in the Great White North is not right.
  5. Aren't you suppose to be playing volleyball, not messing around with all things mechanical?
  6. A recent article in a West Australian newspaper reported that a woman, Mrs.Maynard, has sued a Perth hospital, saying that after her husband had surgery he lost all interest in sex. A hospital spokesman replied "Mr. Maynard was admitted for cataract surgery. All we did was correct his eyesight." Now you have an idea what its like to get a special picture text message from notallthere too!!!!
  7. No, I am not a member of the Bearing Burners car club and I am no longer a GM employee.
  8. If the floor can't hold up a Vette or two, what chance in Hell does a snowman have????
  9. I finally heard from a credible source that the problem was two-fold. First, GM wanted $22k for use of the property, up significantly from previous years. I am told this was a manageable amount for the Bearing Burners though for this show - especially now that the car show has been added to the swap meet. Second problem, and more significantly is in order to use the GM Tech Center grounds, a current member of the club must be an actual GM employee or retiree (not a contractor). It seems they pissed off the only GM employee in the club (who quit the club) and that stopped the whole thing dead in its tracks. It was too late to reschedule another venue for this year.
  10. That was expected Ringo.I just hope like Hell I don't fall through the dang floor !!!
  11. I leave Sunday for Bowling Green. Delivery and plant tour will be Monday the 18th.
  12. A man is alone in an airport lounge. A beautiful woman walks in and sits down at the table next to him. He decides because she's wearing a uniform, she's probably an off-duty Flight attendant. So he decides to have a go at picking her up by Identifying the airline she flies for, thereby impressing her greatly. He leans across to her and says the British Airways motto : 'To Fly. To Serve'? The woman looks at him blankly. He sits back and thinks up another line. He leans forward again and delivers the Air France motto: 'Winning the hearts of the world'? Again she just stares at him with a slightly puzzled look on her face. Undeterred, he tries again, this time saying the Malaysian Airlines motto: 'Going beyond expectations'? The woman looks at him sternly and says: 'What the F*ck do you want?' 'Aha!' he says, "Air Canada!"
  13. 14s were the stock base wheel and 15s were the optional wheel across the line. I don't think its the 14' rim in of it itself that is the problem. What is your clearance issue? Is the tire too tall or is the wheel back spacing incorrect pushing the tire close to the fender lip? If memory serves, the X-body cars came with either a 14x6 or a 14x7 sized wheel, ditto in the 15 in configuration. So if your wheels are wider than 7 inches, that might be the problem. The Rally IIs you have don't have the correct back spacing for your car. Tire sizes were general small, ER78x14 or FR78x14, about the equivalent of a P195/75R14 or P205/75R14 (respectively) in today's metric sizes.
  14. It's $2.579 a gallon in Dwight Illinois, right next to Historic Route 66, at I-55 and Ill-17.
  15. They JUSTA don't build them the way JUSTA did Sprint 6 !!!!
  16. Funny you should mention the Pontiac Oakland Museum Sprint6.....wannna guess where I was today? I will give you a big hint!
  17. http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2015/05/06/1964-pontiac-banshee-xp-833-coupe-concept-heads-to-auction/?refer=news Intended as a shot across Ford’s bow, Pontiac’s Banshee XP-833 coupe was an answer to Ford’s Cougar II show car, and Pontiac brass felt confident they could bring the Banshee to market before Ford launched its own two-seater. History tells us that neither car saw production, but a glimpse at the Banshee gives us a look at design cues that would later appear on the third-generation Corvette and the first-generation Firebird. One of two first-generation Banshees built (the other a white convertible that’s long been a part of Joe Bortz’s collection), the silver coupe will head to auction later this month as part of the Dragone sale in Greenwich, Connecticut. The coupe remained with its original owner until 2006, when it sold at a Barrett-Jackson auction for $214,500. Since then, it’s been offered for sale numerous times, including a trip across the stage at RM’s 2010 Amelia Island sale, where it bid to $325,000 but failed to meet reserve, and at Mecum’s 2010 Monterey sale, where it bid to $400,000 without changing hands. It’s twice been featured as a Find of the Day in the Hemmings Daily, but neither running included a price in the listing. Dragone Auctions is predicting a selling price between $600,000 and $650,000 when the 1964 Pontiac Banshee XP-833 crosses the stage on May 30 as part of its 2015 Greenwich Car Event Weekend auction. 18. Again, who's fault is that? You will never organize this "nationals" volleyball thing ever again either will you? We both know you've learned your lesson there.
  19. OK I'm impressed. You have a plan, and you are sticking to it. Good job. So what bumps in the road have you encountered with this project other than the usual -- not enough time and not enough money?
  20. If you get the Farmall B, perhaps you can use the oiler gear too? I understand why she is hiding from you. She's ashamed. She can't go out in public without her shocks on. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.
  21. Try reaching up under the dash and make sure the two electrical connections to the cluster are pushed in and they are firm and tight.
