  1. Beautiful award SPRINT6, congrats...however, there was no '72 GT-37 convertibles. GT-37s were '70 & '71 only hardtops. It appears to me that your award is based a '72 Lemans Sport Convertible with the GT stripe package. My car did not have the strip package according to PHS. Considering there are less than 2800 Lemans convertibles built in '72, the GT stripe/decal is probably an extremely rare option. For your consideration:
  2. I took Lucy out for the first cruise of the season on Saturday to the local burger joint cruise in Flushing Mi - a former A&W. The cruise is held every 3rd Saturday between April to October. It was in the low 70s and sunny. So the boy and I put the top down and headed out. Clearly everyone else was itching to get their cars out based on the cars that showed up. The A-Body Convention - Lucy next to a '69 El Camino - GTO, Cheveille, and Buick GS - A pair of Oldsmobiles - one drop top - A verdano green Chevelle "Nomad" 4-door wagon - A matching verdano green '71 Lemans 4-door wagon (rumor has the two wagon owners are buddies) - '70 GTO Judge '67 Bonneville convertible Mercury Marauder with Super Maruader (dual quads) and 4-speed stick '48 Packard custom streed rod - "Ask the Man Who Owns One" Peggy Sue was there ! Complete with Continential kit Lead Sleds Classic Pickup Maybelline - Chuck Berry would be proud to drive this Caddy - rare 50s Buick Special wagon - Olds Holiday I believe - '60 Buick LeSabre 4-door just like Grandpa use to own
  3. I am fine with that Ringo. Just remember I will be back the following winter and notallthere has your cell phone number and he's not afraid to send you his "special photos" (believe me I know) the rest of your life. You will wish Guido and Pasquale paid you a visit and made you a better offer.
  4. Yup...I agree stratman. I have a set for my 14" rims already. When I bought them, I was not expecting to have to paint or buy them but I am okay with that. Eastwood sells the paint too.
  5. Things fine Ringo. Plan my untimely death buy forcing me into public service if you must, that still leaves GE, Pro, JUSTA6 and notallthere to get ya!!!! ...and we know how notallthere can be..... and GE ain't right either.
  6. Spent some time test fitting Lucy's future new shoes. I am not certain I might have clearance issues with the 15 x 8 rims. Three different back spacing sizes - even though all three are 15" rims I compared my original 14" rims to the new ones. Its clear I need to add some charcoal paint to the center section for that correct factory look.
  7. Then we can start using politicians to fill the potholes? It also could take care of the lawyer over population problem.
  8. Stratman and SPRINT6 should go and take pictures for us. They can be our "on the spot reporters" !!!!
  9. The package for the Lemans showed up. I might get to play with it this weekend.
  10. I have two initial suspensions. First of all, are the tires the same size as the original tires? I believe 14", 15" and even 16" wheels were available that year so I am not sure what size tire is correct for your car. You should have a tag on the drivers door. I am wondering if you have incorrect tire sizes, which will impact your speedometer's reading. Second suspect is the wrong speed calibration gear in the transmission. If the engine was changed, it is possible that the transmission might have been changed from another donor car as well, with the wrong calibration gear. You can solve your problem by taking your car to a competent shop (preferably one that has a rolling dyno) that can determine the proper calibration gear you need and install it between the transmission and the speedometer cable. Check with your local transmission shops to see if they do this sort of work or recommend someone who does.
  11. Stratman, that's how life in Michigan is with the price of gas, I'm afraid. It goes up like a rocket, and down like a feather. Now they want to fix our horrible roads by raising the state sales tax from 6 to 7% and also uping the gas tax from 19 cents a gallon to a floor of 41 cents a gallon!!!! We get to vote on it in May. I am voting "Hell No".
  12. Gawd help us if Pro gets his hands on a working time machine. The new space/time continuum would be unrecognizable from this reality. In some ways, that might be a good thing.
  13. Gas jumped up last night 30 cents to $2.49 a gallon, and I needed to get gas.....grrrrr.
  14. Think there's enough holes in the rear bumper???? Somebody went crazy with the hole saw.
  15. Perhaps you can work out a deal with Amazon and notallthere to get it shipped to Port Huron, smuggled over the border, and then shipped to K-beck from wilds of Ontario. Of course, that might blow any savings you might have gotten from Amazon in the first place. Sales reps are only slightly higher on the human food chain from automotive sales reps, lawyers, and politicians. These people prove that no one is completely worthless, they server has "bad examples" to the rest of society.
  16. You are a lucky man. Think of all the quality time with Daddy your daughter is now having with you fixing this thing. You are teaching her to fix her own mistakes (like buying this thing in the first place), right???? You are teaching her to drive the dang stick, right????? My boy and I looked at '98 YJ last summer. Rockers were bad, radio shot, canvas roof was rotted, 128k miles. I said "no f'ing way" to the kid (he is still 15- till July).
  17. Well that just shattered for me the expression "if its worth doing, its worth over doing"....not, not in this case. I think Pro would be ecstatic if his daughter's Sidekick/Tracker looked that good !!!!
  18. Still trying to sell the concept of riding the short bus again GE?
  19. GE - Roadkill Ace GE - The Deerslayer GE - Fresh n' Tender - Straight from the Fender! GE - Looking for your cat? Have you looked under my wheels lately? GE - German Shepard Pie GE - Rack of Raccoon GE - Smear of Deer GE - Chunk of Skunk GE - Beep Beep Sheep GE - Food is always more fun when it's killed on the run !!!!
  20. Just order some paint for the Envoy from Amazon. Also ordered something for the Lemans from McNichols.
  21. Yes, but there would no longer be a place to sit down....or it might look like a oversized motorized barstool. You know how you and Pro are around motorized and jet-powered barstools. Damn I would pay good money to have seen that one.
  22. That does not sounds too awfully expensive, all things considered. Like the advise you got above, heat the casing up and trying to pound or pull the bearing out. If you have a punch or bearing race to punch against, so much the better. Obviously since you are going to replace all the bearing as a set, you don't have to worry about trying to save the bearing itself. You just don't want to damage the bearing mount surface. As you able to take advantage of modern synthetic fluids in the tractor or does IH/JI Case not recommend it from the older machines?
