  1. I once wired a toggle switch to the heater fan in our grandprix. It was stuck on even with the key off. Talk about a fire waiting to happen LOL (i did have a fuse inline)
  2. Well. Inline tube has agreed to replace the one that came apart.$13 to ship it to me. They also have said they never heard of this happening. I really wish someone could say yea ya dumbarse you did this or that wrong LOL. Then i could sleep better with the new one coming. Tired of researching brake systems at this point so i will probably install the new one. Over the winter i will be looking into the hydro boost or a bigger diameter bore of the master cyl or a dual diaphragm corvette style etc. PS make sure your E-brake works!
  3. Thats a bummer.Looking forward to meeting up.
  4. The hydro boost is nice as it doesnt need vacuum. But its more small stuff as opposed to the power booster. Still researching it more. i see some folks using it at the car shows. I just want it to be factory looking. Not a cobbled up mess.
  5. I may try that Gary..alot easier than changing it again. thinking of going with this set up now (possibly) I have a new appreciation for stopping now LOL https://www.performanceonline.com/1967-72-Chevy-Chevelle-Hydro-Boost-Power-Brake-Booster-Kit/
  6. I was shaking for an hour afterwards. Make sure your Emergency brakes work. This is the second time i had this happen. Not the booster but rotted out GM brake lines on my buddys truck. He never put the e-brake cable back on and well that made it more interesting.
  7. I will say QP has been great so far. Having a co make the E-brake cables was a huge benefit. The brakes work a little better than the drums but i have a low vacuum motor. The E-brake works perfectly and i didnt even have to adjust the cables. I am really happy overall with the 9 vs the 8.2. Some things i learned along the way. 1 do not get any brake cables, lines. 2 really is no need for the filling bung option as it still sucked to fill it with that option. it still has the allen wrench fill plug. which a turkey baster or a large syringe is what i used and is all thats needed. 3 the drain plug is a bonus. 4 the jack pad...i cut 1/3 of mine off to fit the factory swaybar. I do not think it is really necessary as the housing is really thick. 5 I honestly think all you really need is a disc disc prop valve, your results may vary here. 6 unless you are autocrossing the Torino big bearing ends should last a looong time. Pinion angle didnt change and the tires fit exactly in the same space as the 8.2 did.All in all i would do this again in a heartbeat. Bonus is unless you really really look close it looks like a 12 bolt under the car! Any questions ask away while its still fresh in my memory LOL PLUS i have had a few guys asking to buy my 68 GTO 8.2 rear so that may really offset the cost of this swap!
  8. Maiden voyage went smooth! Brakes work better. (low vacuum motor) couple more heat cycles tomorrow and im burnin rubber again! Yea that prop valve was a %&*@'er! That pic makes it look like there was room LOL
  9. New prop valve from summit went in tonight. Brakes bled its all done! Fill it tomorrow with some stinky gear oil then tighten all the control arms now that its on the ground and i should be good to go. Well then its break in time but hell i'v waited this long soooo.
  10. I have to say, soooo far tech support has been great. Thanks Justa
  11. Welcome to the club! Pics are light years beyond me..
  12. My track is closed and another one in Lapeer is starting to see some resistance. We need more tracks not less. If anyone is at a street race its their fault if they get hurt. Spectator or racer. Same reason i wont skydive.
  13. Can ya find it on amazon? I like to keep my oil from the manufacturer. Polaris in my sleds and honda in my road bike.
