Car or motorcycle?

Recommended Posts

I was at a 4th of July cruise-in and saw this- it's called a Polaris Slingshot. It had paper WVA plates, so it was new and apparently legal there, but I was wondering if it is registered as a car or motorcycle (the owner wasn't around to ask)? Is it legal in all states? Anyway... it's pretty cool!

The Can AM has been around for years and a legal motorcycle.  This must be the Polaris model. I've never seen one before. Thankz for sharing.

cool. and theres a steering wheel so car...i think. :D

Due to it's 3 wheels, it might be motorcycle. Just like Reliant Robin in England.

The Polaris Slingshot is a commercially available vehicle and as such, the federal government classifies it as a motorcycle. With this classification and the designation of a side-by-side, there is no requirement for airbags, climate controls, or other creature comforts.

three wheels is a motorcycle just about everywhere. Personally, I'd have a Reliant any day. Brilliant cars ... no matter what that ape Clarkson says. I've know dozens of people that own them ... not one has ever lifted a tire. But of course, they're not all 6'4" with half their body weight centred between their ears like him.

That would make it a Boss Hog Slingshot!

Sounds like a V8 bar stool and the jet powered one that Pro loves so much!
