parking citation

ok guys. imma need some opinions on this. its already an open and shut case. i didnt receive it, my parents did. but since the citation is so bogus and being shoved down my parents throats, i thought id return the favor tenfold and straight up their ass. who would be the ideal people to send the letter/proof (to get something going against them)? any other details come to mind? so the details of this citation: 1st, the address dont exist for the city. 2nd, the make and color dont match the plate and vin. 3rd, the car wasnt in that town at that time, it wasnt even in the same state. 4th, the car left the state nearly one year ago with new out of state plates 7 months ago. so you can see why this would be completely stupid on their part. i thought it was the Altima as it states "red" and "toy" as a confused meter maid (shaved Nissan letters) but the plate and vin listed match the car thats out of state now which is still not a red Toyota. how would this info be accessible to them? and especially now?

How did you receive the citation if the car was out of state? Mail?

If you have proof the car was out of state at the time the citation states and none of the details match except the license plate. It is possible someone duplicated/stole your old license plate and are using it or the DMV didn't update the information in the database. Need to make them aware, either call the police or DMV? Is there a number on the citation to call for disputes or problems?

Go talk to a Justice of the Peace or make an appointment with a Judge to talk to him about it. Bring your evidence, paperwork, and the car and see what can be done.

the citation arrived by mail. if DMV not updating is true, how did the citation have the correct vin for that plate? and registration proves that car (plate and vin) dont exist, hasnt for 7 months. insurance proves they dont own and have never owned a red Toyota. and it does have a number to call but i feel like that wont do much. should i try the mail option before the meeting? ill do it for them if i have to but kinda dont want to.

I reached out for help on this, hopefully she'll post here soon.

alrighty.

Hi, [ChaosweaveR]'s friend here. I need to see the citation. You can blank out the personal information if you want I just need to see exactly what you were sent and if any of the information is wrong point it out for me and describe how it's wrong. Also, what State are you in?

ill PM it to you later today.

Forgive me for being rude, brash, or just an ass. If this is your parents issue then why are your parents not handling it?

jus trying to be helpful anyway that i can or repay them back for any successes (successfulness? whatever) that i may have but i aint that successful yet. also, the proof is a state away and the quickest is text. theyll have trouble printing from text. and being the "kids" or the generation that we are, technology comes easier to us. plus they both work their daily overtime and often their 6th day. least i can do for now, right?

so any advice on the written letter? any words not to use? call it or dont call it a scam? be nice, be mean, or both? id like to send it out tomorrow.

  • Author

also, would it matter if black out the out of state address and policy number on the papers im sending as proof?

  • Author

if i tell them to send me a hand written apology, would they do it or deny my letter?

They would probably deny it because the government don't give two sh**s about us homey. I wish it weren't true!!

  • Author

how about calling this citation as a "scam"? do it or no?

  • Author

how long does it take for them to respond back?

I'm a bit confused at the opening post because of all the information that isn't matching. Sometimes I scratch my head at how things get done, while dealing with inaccurate information. If you're going to be sending a letter, make sure that it's respectful(I know you might be angry, but it will work in your favor normally), and also type it up. Normally letters that are hand written will normally be passed off as being informal. Best of luck to you in this case. :)

of course it doesnt match, they mixed 3 different cars together on the citation and passed it off onto my parents. couldnt type this up, they wanted it written on their form. their reply should be on its way already.
