thnx for the find! im even registered on this site and looked several months ago but just noticed this was posted in jan of this year. now it looks like ill have to do this.

now here is a problem. i dont have ABS so ill have to find another way around it.

If you do not have ABS just do not hook it up from the wheel bearings. I would check the wheel bearing dimensions as I think the disk and drums are the same size so the bearing assemblies will work. The expensive part is going to be the backing plates.

exspensive, pfft. Junkyards FTW.

so i have broken it down to all i need are the GT rear brakes which won't cost me as much as the 2ZZ modeled vehicles. im still working on the details. i will be purchasing my cross drilled rotors pretty soon. want to start some road racing and practice in the vibe. :welcomeFP:

yeah even up here there does seems to be a shortage o newer vehicles in junkyards.. other wise i would have a crap ton of torrent parts so i could start experimenting!

as far as backing plate though.. you could always try fitment from other vehicles.. i havent seen them for this vehicle but i know i have fabricated a few backing plates before

update. i found out that i could do a rear disc conversion from any celica gt, gts, matrix xr, xrs, corolla s, xrs, vibe, and vibe gt model.

ABS won't be a problem because i actually don't have to connect the ABS. Lines and everything fit. I have a buddy with a celica gt that used the gts rear brakes and didn't connect the abs and brakes work perfect.

just to be on the safe side, anyone recommend this?

TOFTT. if you dont think its safe, then dont go for it...you do have a family.
