markpetersonii's 71 VW Squareback

Recommended Posts

I just picked up a 1971 VW Squareback today for $960. I drove it about 30 miles and it drove fine until I parked it and it died as I was backing into the spot. It also kinda burns oil so I'm thinking the oil is low and that's why it died out. I'll go over all that tomorrow.

Anyway, here are some pics. :D

cool. why'd you pick it up?

yes why did you, whats your plans

I got it cause I needed a cheap DD. Plans are to do an OEM+ restore. :D

Interesting choice, can see why it was so cheap :D

Definitely not something I would buy but will look good with some restoring :agreed:

Lol I'm actually surprised it was this cheap, I talked him down from $1500!

Lol it must be my rich German background. Or maybe it's the fact that I live in Cali and its just so easy to work on Euros. The Midwest seems to be better for American Muscle.
