I blame Obama & Barra both for Pontiac’s closure. He put her in the position to take down GM! The facts are well documented.

For those I offend; you should research & read more.

Looks like a Caddy front, Pontiac grill, Solstice rear. I like it!

Look how well GM is doing ever since! Other than the Corvette, there are no Chevy sedans or coupes. Cadillac only has the CTS 4 and CTS 5 sedans. The Camaro is gone.

All SUV/CUVs are essentially blobs and unappealing to us car guys.

EVs are just plain expensive and lack the range or flexibility of an ICE power plant.

Buick, the division GM saved and sacrificed Pontiac for, is a pale image of itself. It is a true international brand at this point. They only sell the Enclave, Envision, Envista, and Encore GX. All four are blobs. Only the Enclave is built in the US, at Lansing Delta Township. The rest are built in South Korea or China. The last Regal model was built in Germany by then Opel/Vauxhall. The former Buick Cascade convertible was made in Poland.

GM maybe profitable these days, but other than trucks and truck-based SUVs, there is little in their line up I remotely find desirable. The changing of the GM logo from large block letters to the small letter/electrical plug logo means GM has drank from the government EV kool aid once again. I don’t see Ford or Dodge changing their logos to be more EV friendly. This is just a sell out to me.

At this point, I don’t really care if GM succeeds long term. My retirement is not the least bit tied to GM’s profitability anymore. Buying Violet was one of the best things I ever did, even if she was used.
