Today, my buddy Chuck and I made our way to Saginaw MI for the 42nd Annual Model A Restorer's Club swap meet at the McDonald's Cadillac/GMC dealership on M-58. This is a really small, indoor swap meet. I usually find small trinkets and AC memorabilia here.

So here is some of what I saw.....

Pair of '28-29 Ford fenders

Clean TH350 or TH400

Engine parts = for a Flathead

 

I can hear Waylon singing just by looking at this.....

 

My buddy Jeff with his stash of parts - mostly Pontiac stuff. He dismantles and parts out old cars. He recently parted out a '68 and '69 Lemans. First A-bodies he's been able to afford to part out in over a decade.

 

If you are a fan of Roadkill and Roadkill Garage - this is the infamous Thermoquad carburetor that Dulchich and Freiburger love so dang much. The famous line is "Thermoquad! The only carburetor than punishes for going wide open throttle!" 

Valve covers! There is a set of chrome Ponitac ones at the far right, in front of the Mopar boxes.

Cool pedal car, kid, and AC truck

Okay - this is a new one even for me. Clearly this was worn by someone in AC facilities - since they oversaw all construction and remodeling at the site.

Gotta Jeep?

The red steering wheel is off a mid-70s Corvette or Camaro. It has the simulated cotton winding on it. However, that wheel was first introduced on the Chevy Vega without the simulated windings. I think Steve Magnante tells that story on an episode of Roadkill's Junkyard Gold.

I remember this stuff when dealerships gave this stuff away. In reality, it was a joke and didn't work that well.

This trip to Saginaw gave Chuck and I the excuse to stop in Birch Run at Tony's for a big meal. Here you go mate! 

Chuck got the scrambled eggs - 1 lb of bacon and toast.

 

I got the scrambled eggs, steak, hashbrowns and toast.

I could not eat the hashbrowns. I had to take them home and eat them for dinner tonight, I so full of steak, eggs, and bacon. Chuck still took a lot of bacon home too.

 

Chuck and I picked up the local winter auto swapper rag while we were at Tony's. I thought this article on Rat Fink inspired T-shirts, posters, and stickers was cool. I have never seen these particular toons before. I think they are neat.

Sooo...is Chuck still alive or did you simply step over his bloated  corpse  and left him where he collapsed?

Is there a defib unit at Tony's? If not, you should suggest one.
