Feeling blessed to have my wife this week!

Featured Replies

This week has been unbelievable...

Monday on my wifes way to work two semi tractor trailers pulled out in front of her while she was on a 4 lane divided highway.  There was not enough room for her to stop and not slam into a wall of semi's. Her only choice to try to save her own life was to split the gap between them and hit who knows what on the other side. She doesn't know how she got thru. One second she thought she would be dead the next shes in the very wet ditch inside her SUV save as one could be. Did not roll nor hit either truck. There wasn't room for the first truck to cross in front of her let alone the second. He hd to have blown the stop sign to be that close. He claimed he was taking hos sun glasses off and just didn't see her coming. He was just following his other truck.

Well we know how she Survived, God put his hand out in front of that truck and slowed it just enough for her to get thru and safely set her in the tall weeds. The SUV is mostly ok but has $6000 in damages to the entire cooling system and exhaust that was crushed when it hit the bottom of the ditch.

Yup she got to do what we all dreamed of as young men. She duke of hazzard'd her SUV and flew over 20' and bounced a second time and lived.

And yes the next day as a good husband I asked her if when we got it fixed if I could put an large 01 on her drivers door. She smiled and said no thank you please.

We are all very thankful to have her here with us today. Thank you Lord for saving my wife.

Now we just have to fight with the trucking company for the damages.

The first three photos were created with my buddy's help so people could see what my wife saw. She had to look away when I showed her these, but then gave us the adjustments we needed to make this set.

Tomorrow is promised to noone, life is short, don't waste a minute of it without those that you love.

Dude, I'm delighted your wife is okay. Having had my own near death experience awhile ago, I cherish every minute I still have on this good ol' earth.

So hold her tight, kiss her and tell her how much worse your life would be without her and what she means to you.

She just received a call from the trucking company that they are taking full responsibility amd paying the dealership to repair her truck and cover her expenses from the accident.

So much stress has just been lifted off our shoulders.

Thankful to hear that your wife is alright! I'm sweating just thinking about this. Swift reactions on her part to do that!

Funny actually when we get the SUV back it's official name is going to be Dixie!

At first she said Daisy but she likes Dixie better!

I saw the title to this and wondered how many typos the poor man had committed, THEN I read the story. I'm also glad to hear everything worked out okay. It's only in events like this that you realise just how dangerous it is to propel oneself down the road in a steel box. It only works if everyone is competent and is paying attention.

Well it took half the summer but after the trucking company took full responsibility for the accident crap hit the fan. They turned it over to their insurance company which of course tried to take us thru the cleaners. They count on people being fools.... You're messing with the wrong fella there buddies if you think I'm gonna just accept what you say. This guy called the dealership that we took the SUV to and said he's sending out an appraiser cause they will likely total the vehicle..... The dealership laughed at him and said it's not totalled. He said we'll see about that. For those that don't know the insurance company will do everything they can to Total your vehicle because then they can send it to auction and get some of their money back. If they just pay you for the damages they get nothing back. For this process to work they have to give you the lowest possible value for it. I don't know about you but if i was going to sell my rig I would not take the lowest value would you?

So his appraiser came out.... Guy must have been blind or dirty... He neglected to see that we have leather seats he said we had cloth, said we didnt have a hitch.... We do. Said we didnt have navigation .... we do. Said we didn't have premium sound.... Its a Bose system. And the list goes on and on....

His appraisal came in at $6600 for our Fully loaded Acadia. Not a chance buddy.

I hired my own appraiser. Turns out there were only 5 similar Suvs in the entire nation with similar options to our priced between 10-13k. The og purchaser checked every box except the tv option... They choose the second sun roof instead. And the appraisal came it at $10,000.

They said they weren't saying it was totalled just that it was a possibility...that was before they saw pictures or had any estimates or appraisals. I have an email they forwarded with their appraisal telling the appraiser they were seeking a total loss a week before he told me it was just a possibility. So he told the appraiser to total out vehicle before they even looked at it. Their insurance company said if i was going to be difficult i could go thru my insurance company... Wish granted buddy. Game on. When my insurance company assigned out case the guy told us well if they think its totalled well probably just agree with them.... i had his boss on the phone that same day and sad i want a new agent assigned to our claim. I said you work for me not them. That's why i pay you to insure my cars. His boss was assigned our claim and guess what they started  taking me serious. I gave all the facts and emails and our appraisal and all of our notes to our new insurance claims adjuster about why the first appraisal was wrong and how they tried to devalue our vehicle. In the end the Dixie is fixed and back on the road looking sharp. My wife is still going to the therapy for her back from the bounce the vehicle took after it landed. That part may take some time to heal but it's on their dime not ours.

Lesson to everyone if you don't have appraisals on your vehicle go do it and get it on file. It gives you a basepoint to start at if something happens.

Now on to the 31 pontiac build new post coming...
