Roadkill Nights presented by Dodge - August 12, 2023

I bit the bullet and I signed up to attend this year's Roadkill Nights Presented by Dodge. It was not cheap, let me just say that. This is another Motortrend event, like Hot Rod Power Tour and Drag Week. By the looks of things, Indyman Joe and I will be going (my ticket lets 2 people in).

This is street legal drag racing on Woodward Avenue. It takes place a week before the Woodward Dream Cruise. Motortrend channel celebs will be there. The Dodge Thrill Ride will be there too. This year the event has moved from the M1 Concourse (on the south end of Pontiac) to downtown Pontiac. In fact, it will be on west Pike street, two blocks from the Pontiac Transportation Museum, across from the Phoenix Center.

This is like the 8th or 9th annual Roadkills Nights. One year they did it the Friday before Woodward. That was a disaster given all the additional traffic that week on Woodward. The week before is much better. If you watch past episodes Roadkill or Hot Rod Garage, you'll see snippets from Roadkill Nights. They even live stream Roadkill Nights on Motortrend+.

Justa wants more Roadkill stickers (he got mine from Power Tour last year). I told him he has to come to event or buy them from the online Motortrend store. He couldn't come this year - some nonsense about his birthday being the same day and he will be "forced" to be with his family instead. I guess Joe and I will have to live it up instead.

The fact this event is in our own backyard helps - a lot!

Nothing like the smell of unburned hydrocarbons tearing up a city street in the morning. It smells like.....victory!

for just penny's a day you can sponsor an aussie! LOL

we can put ya up at our house.

From Freiburger's Facebook page:

Finnegan, Dulchich, Cotton, and him installing the tunnel ram on the Dumpster Fire Daytona - underneath a freeway, on the way to Roadkill Nights. We will see all this in an upcoming episode of Roadkill.
