Yesterday I was pulling apart the indicator/high beam column stalk. I managed to drop AND lose 2 ball bearings. Each one jumped out of my grasp, bounced twice and then disappeared into an alternate dimension. There, they will join all the various nuts, bolts, washers and detritus that I have managed to lose over the decades.
