  1. If they have problems getting one Joe, I will call you. Thanks for letting me know. I hear ya'. I think I will call over there again later this morning and get another update.
  2. Just got an interesting update on Lucy. The shop called and said my original brake and fuel lines are immaculate. No need to replace them. They are in better shape than most new cars. I have a vent tube problem on the rear differential, the flex lines between the front calipers and for the rear diff has the protective nylon starting to split and they need to be replaced, and the master cylinder is leaking behind the main seal and needs to be replaced. So I guess I don't need new hard lines after all.
  3. Looks like something Bam Bam would use.
  4. A dubious anniversary for the Pontiac faithful. http://gmauthority.com/blog/2018/04/its-been-nine-years-since-gm-announced-pontiacs-death/
  5. Pontiac beating up a Chebbie. What a shame!?!
  6. I dropped off Lucy to the shop to have all the hard brake and fuel lines replaced that I got from Inline Tube.
  7. I have mixed feeling about that.....Birdman is in a Pontiac but I was rooting for Ryan.
  8. For me, this whole thing started with an email I got from Indyman Joe saying another Pontiac forum was looking for people who had a knack for writing, particularly biographies. I submitted my name and what I got back sort of blew me away. It would appear that there is a move to create a Pontiac Preservation Association. Within that Association will be the Pontiac Hall of Fame. A group of us were asked to vote on a huge candidate pool of living and deceased Pontiac employees, dealers, racers, and enthusiasts in order to make up the first Hall of Fame candidate class. Surprisingly, my name was in that initial candidate pool list. Now the results are in, and the candidate pool has been narrowed down. You can now participate in the voting for the Hall of Fame. Attached is the email I received yesterday. Voting is from April 25/2018 to 5/4/2018. I have already voted and it was exceptionally easy. I strongly encourage everyone to sign up and vote. "Our Committee members have recently finished their voting and that means the general Pontiac public voting is right around the corner. These members went onto the Pontiac Preservation Association website and read about the bio’s of selected nominees. Now it is your turn… We would like for you to do the following easy steps: 1) By receiving this email you are already registered and your name is on the voting list. There is no need to register again. 2) Tell as many of your friends and family about this election as possible. Think of anyone who is interested in the Pontiac hobby, ie…club members, people who had these Pontiacs back in the day, etc… 3) Please go and "like" our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/PontiacPreservationAssociation/ From there feel free to share the page and our most recent posts. We need this shown to as many people as possible to make a difference. 4) If you haven't already you can go to our website http://www.pontiacpreservationassociation.org where you can read about all of the nominees. I’m sure there are many things you didn’t know about the nominees. 5) You will be getting TWO follow-up e-mails from Election Runner making it very easy to vote for who you think deserves this award. One e-mail will be for the deceased nominees and another will be for the living. The awards will be presented to the finalists and/or their family members at the GTOAA convention awards banquet. We will be unveiling the special display at the Pypes Exhaust Car Show on June 30th, then bring the display to the GTOAA convention banquet award dinner. Be one of the first to check it out in person if you can! Remember… every vote counts! Thank you!"
  9. I run Ram Air Reproduction exhaust manifolds on my 455 in my '72 Lemans. I have the oil filter in the stock location - I've had no problems. That's my two cents.
  10. Freejak - its been awhile since I've been in the shop, however, Paper Weight is absolutely the most appropriate name for this cat. It literally lies on the counter, anyone's desk and paper work, etc. like a true paper weight. Janie and her twin sister run the business office and their brother Rob runs the machine shop operations. So just explain what all you are looking for. They will be honest with you for sure.
  11. SPRINT6 - do you know if Thomas Bonsall extended his book all the way thru the end of Pontiac (2010)? Just curious.
  12. Thanks for sharing Last Indian. I had not seen the screen side version. So I learned something too. I had not forgotten about the sedan deliveries. As I pointed out earlier, the distinction in the 40s/50s between a panel delivery and sedan delivery was the truck vs. a car chassis respectively. Since the topic was focused on truck, I omitted the sedan deliveries. If we are talking about sedan deliveries, let's not forget the Vega/Astre/Sunbird sedan deliveries of the mid-to-late 70s.
  13. For Ford fans, this is great news - especially if you have the cash to af-FORD one!!!! https://www.autoblog.com/2018/04/19/ford-mustang-boss-302-429-mach1-classic-recreations/
  14. JUSTA interesting side note, Gordon Heidacker, was the founder of Heide Performance Products (or HPP for short). They produced the '69 Trans Am Camaro tribute car that sold at Barrett-Jackson last year and they built the original Daytona kit that went on GE's Challenger. HPP was based in Madison Heights Michigan as well. I'd drive by it once in awhile on my way home from the GM Tech Center in Warren MI. It was just a few blocks south of 14 Mile Road. ZTA was another Trans Am Depot wanna-be company that transformed Camaros into Firebird/Trans Ams.
  15. Now this is interesting - PMD Garage - Pontiac Motor Dudes. I sure hope this is a success. http://www.theoaklandpress.com/general-news/20180417/pontiac-motor-dudes-to-open-hot-rod-speed-shop-in-downtown-pontiac
  16. Duh! Dough...I need more dough!
  17. Most definitely Last Indian. It was great to get out of the house for sure.
  18. Karma has been a bitch for me and Lucy at this show. Last year, the power top and windows didn't want to go up. That ended up being a failed relay and broken hydraulic lines that plagued me all last summer. This year I dragged Lucy out for this first time all winter, I start her up and the brake idiot light comes on. I checked the brake reservoir and the back half is empty. So I was a little late meeting JUSTA and Indyman Joe because I had to stop at a nearby parts store, get brake fluid, and top of the reservoir. Long story short, this is why I bought the new lines from Inline Tube, in the first place now I just have to get them installed. Lucy is going into the shop this week. You don't see side exhaust much anymore. I still think they look badass on the right car. Love the shifter! Gotta love a motor that is taller than the roof!
  19. I am friends with the good folks at Givens Machine Shop in Charleston WV. Contact Janie Givens at (304) 342-0171. Tell them Dennis from Michigan referred you. Ask them how the shop cat named "Paper Weight" is doing. They do Chevys, Ford, Pontiacs, and diesels. They should be able to help you.
  20. Huh....that's higher than I thought you'd give me. Pity. We have Yooper jokes here in Michigan (poking fun at people from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan). Q: How do you ya' know if it's summer in da' Yoop? A: It's da tree months of bad sledding!
