  1. True enough. The real test, of course, is if it can pull the trailer right out from underneath the boat. Then you've got something with some get up and go. Even the knuckleheads on "Roadkill" haven't accomplished that one yet.
  2. Who wants a LS motor with Hemi heads? Yes please !!!!! http://www.hotrod.com/articles/hemi-ls-yes-real-kicks-ass/?wc_mid=4035:11193&wc_rid=4035:290323&_wcsid=FB184DAC699F0C9203975A8F6A091FB8BD9D9BB525659E19
  3. I will have to double check my GM shop manual to be verify what I am about to say. By pulling air from the heater core area, the internal temperature inside that area is sufficiently high for defogging purposes - we need to defog a tach not a whole front or rear window. The ambient temperature inside the heater box cover comes from the radiant heat of the heater core within the enclosure. The temperature should be high enough to defog the tach even if the blower motor is running on high to blow hot air into the cabin.
  4. I suppose. Frankly I still want my personal flying jet pack over my driverless pizza delivery boy - let's call him "Chip". Hey, no tips for "Chip" either!!!!
  5. My understanding is that the vent line is suppose to bring a small but constant stream of warm air into the tach to prevent the fogging and remove any condensation that might have collected in it. You do not want cool "conditioned" air going to the tach. It was the 1970 model year when they fixed the fogging problem, so if you were looking at a '69 hood tach, it was of a slightly different design. The 1970 and later hood tachs would be the correct vented versions.
  6. I sure am envious. The first of 669 produced. That's prominence ! I am also envious of my buddy's '69 Trans Am. He has one of the 55 Ram Air IV cars (with a 4-speed). It's a six-figure car all day long. Nice article catch stratman!
  7. You're married JUSTA....you've been doing it most of your married life. What's different about now? Are you afraid she is going to be mad that you went head and enjoyed yourself - without her expressed written consent?
  8. Next time you are in Chandler then? I know I'd write that check at least once in my life. Same for the Petty Driving Experience. It's really rather amazing how large an area of Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah that the Navajo Nation actually controls.
  9. I was talking to your dad yesterday. I heard about this. Happy B-day Red!!! So this is why he can't come to Autorama this weekend....it's a surprise birthday party for Red!
  10. Thanks for sharing, as always, stratman. While you are in Arizona, you going to check out the Bondurant school of driving too? I noticed on of the signs for it in the background. I hear its a fantastic driving school.
  11. More photos from Chrome and Ice A real Dussie! The High & Mighty II - an exact replica of the first Ramchargers race car (the first one was eventually wrecked beyond repair)
  12. Charge the battery back up. Make sure the computer tester is unplugged. Put a mutlimeter on the battery terminals and see if you are getting any significant current draw (make sure everything in the car is turned off, doors closed, etc.). If you have significant current draw, then you have a short somewhere or something is on that should not be. BTW - what where the codes you had before you cleared them?
  13. Do we need to kidnap you JUSTA? Indyman Joe can drive the getaway car. notallthere can run cover for us.
  14. VW has already spent/lost $30 billion (with a "B") on "Dieselgate" and I suspect they aren't done yet spending money. I wonder what this will do to their worldwide reputation - long term. Clearly the shareholders must already be pissed and there seems to be no end in sight.
  15. I will defer to Indyman Joe since he recently installed a hood tach on his '72 Lemans and he installed the vent/purge line. He swears that it works as advertised. It's my understanding that the the line serves a dual purpose. It allows the warm air to come up and act as a defroster and it allows the condensation/water to flow out of the hood tach.
  16. I agree with you Pro. He talked to the little kids watching them on TV and explained why he was always chasing the roadrunner (the one kid that wanted to be a Pa-psychiatrist or a Pa-psychoanalyst and the other one that wanted to be a roadrunner - beep beep zip bang!). However, there is a reason that he doesn't speak all that much in most of the cartoons except with signs, especially when it is just him and the roadrunner. I didn't understand it until this weekend.
  17. The Detroit Autorama is the weekend. Who's going? You can get $2 off by buying your ticket in advance at O'Reilly's. Regular admission is $20, $18 at O'Reilly's. Damn.....they've add Charlotte Flair from WWE and John Schneider (a.k.a. Bo Duke from Dukes of Hazard) as part of the celebrity autograph sessions. along with Barry Meguiar and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Looks like the 'Sh' Boom flame throwing pickup will be doing a live demonstration on Friday. I've seen this pick-up up close before. It's awesome and the heat from those flames is intense. https://autorama.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Houston-2017-Flame-Truck-edited_compressed.mp4?_=1
  18. First Porsche announced they will be discontinuing offering diesels in passenger cars, now Fiat Chrysler appears to be posed to do the same thing. https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/fiat-chrysler-to-reportedly-cease-diesel-car-production-by-2022/ This Forbes article I think articulates the points even better. https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidkiley5/2018/02/26/why-fca-and-other-automakers-are-dumping-diesel-cars/#1cc6e83a65ec
  19. Okay GE. I just finished watching all the 2014 issued Coyote-Roadrunner cartoons. I also checked out another one I hadn't see before. So what is name of Wile E. Coyote's father? And why doesn't Wile speak (much)?
  20. I have sent an email out to the POCI technical adviser for the '67 - '70 full size cars to see what suggestions he might have.
  21. KISS Tribute Trans Am - the airbrush art work was done by Uber Spoony G .... (Google him if you don't believe me) Three original Ramchargers cars were on hand along with some of the original Ramchargers drivers and crew were signing autographs. The original Buick "Bug" race car
