  1. Nice score on both cars. I especially love the Cutlass convertible. I knew GM executives that fawned all over these cars since they were the only coupe/sedan convertible available outside the Vette and F-bodies.
  2. You’re married right? You are already living in the doghouse! You should be used to it! The only time we men take our foot out of our mouth is to swap leather!
  3. Okay - two things come to mind. 1. Is it possible to simply repair your existing air cleaner assembly? I can't see what is damaged in the pictures you shared with us. 2. We have to expand our search of used parts. The W-body 1991 Grand Prix shared it's engine and engine bay with it's sister cars, the Buick Regal, Chevrolet Lumina, and Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. So we should be looking for air cleaner assemblies from those cars as well. So looking for 90-96 air cleaner assemblies for a 3.1 engine from one of these other cars should be identical to the one in your Grand Prix.
  4. Dude, not hearing your wife at any given moment is congenital. We men are born with it. It's like the male gender's self-preservation mechanism, it's got nothing to do with beer, but beer helps. I also agree - beer, it's not just for breakfast anymore.
  5. Hi Adam, welcome to FP. We love pictures around here. Can you share a photo of your problem and help us understand what exactly you need to replace? I will defer to my good friend Last Indian for more specific advise as he is the FWD Grand Prix guru of this forum. However, I see one of two possible solutions. Either find a stock replacement air filter box (mostly like from the states) or purchase an aftermarket cold air kit to replace the air intake system to the engine. I have a list of junk yards here in the states that might have the stock replacement you are looking for. Last Indian may have others I don't too.
  6. Yup. Three dragstrips, one super speedway, and a football stadium this year. I'm going to try to get Lucy down the track this year and perhaps an autocross event too. Last year we did three speedways, a dragstrip and a state fairgrounds/football stadium. In 2022, we did a football stadium, 2 superspeedways, a baseball stadium, and a regional fairgrounds.
  7. I finished booking my hotels as well. I'm spending 3 nights in Bowling Green, KY. One night in Louisville and Columbus each. I"ll be driving home directly from Indianapolis since it's only a 5 hour drive.
  8. 360Rocket needs one more car to complete the collection. It has to be white though. Then he will have his 'Merica Collection all red, white, and blue. So patriotic! How about a white Hurst/Olds 442? Or an Apollo White Buick GSX?
  9. Two Lane - good to hear from you bud. I hope everything is well and you aren’t working yourself to death. You were busting some crazy hours last summer. Anything eased up?
  10. I just completed my registration for Power Tour. Long Hauler fees went up to $200 for the week from $150 last year.
  11. One more thing - some people may disagree with this but since I got it straight from the late John Sawruk, the Pontiac Historian, I will carry the message forward. Unless the motor has been rebuilt by a professional engine builder with tighter than stock tolerances, do not use synthetic oil in your engine. The tolerances of your engine as compared to a modern LS or LT motor are night and day. The modern engines can take advantage of the synthetic oil's properties, your Pontiac really can not. So run conventional 10W30 or 10W40 in your car.
  12. I did not know that. Curious. Craftsmen tools was the standard for decades. Theyvwere affordable and were sold at out local Sears and Roebuck stores. Mechanical tools had a life time guarantee. You break something, it’s replaced free, no questions asked. Sears/KMart sold Craftsman to Stanley tools quite some time ago. Still decent quality but no more lifetime guarantee.
  13. If you get a chance, price out anything from Cornwell or Snap-On in your area. Great stuff but highly pricey IMO. Craftsman is not what it use to be either. Tools in general are going up, like everything else. So swap meets are a good way to fight high prices, especially if they are slightly used.
  14. What's a little petrol amongst fellow Ponti-yackers?
  15. MotorTrend has just announces the dates and route of this year's Hot Rod Power Tour. 30th Annual HOT ROD POWER TOUR 2024 SCHEDULE KICKOFF / Day 1: Monday, June 10—Beech Bend Raceway Park, Bowling Green, Kentucky Day 2: Tuesday, June 11—Nashville Superspeedway, Lebanon, Tennessee Day 3: Wednesday, June 12—L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium, Louisville, Kentucky Day 4: Thursday, June 13—National Trail Raceway, Hebron, Ohio Day 5: Friday, June 14—Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, Indianapolis, Indiana Who's in?
  16. If you want to help reduce body roll and sway, try replacing all the body bushings with new ones. Most likely they are worn out. I would also replace all the ball joints, and rubber bushings in the control arms with new ones. The bushings should be new rubber, or polyurethane. Another thought is does your car have a rear sway bar? A lot of these cars did not come with one. However, the aftermarket now has rear sway bar kits for the older B-body cars. My '72 Lemans originally didn't have a rear sway bar either. I added one, and the handling improvement was amazing compared to what it use to be.
  17. I feel the love between these two southern hemisphere bros!
