Fitzy - it's kinda hard to believe that the Suburban is the oldest automotive model in all of North America. The first one was in 1935 called the Chevy Suburban Carry-All. There was a GMC Suburban version too until the late 1990s and then GM switched the name to the Yukon XL. Same vehicle essentially. The only time the Suburban was out of production was for WWII war production. Also for three years - '55 to '57 - there was the GMC Suburban pickup truck. It was GMC's answer to the Chevy Cameo high end pickup truck.

Some of those uber-big engines appear to be either WWI or perhaps WWII era aircraft engines mounted into an automobile chassis. Cool though.

BTW - I don't know if the show is still in production, but there use to be a show called "Cash Cab" on Discovery Channel that would drive around NYC. You get in it, and the driver might turn on some LEDS, tell you were in the Cash Cab and offer you money for answering trivia questions on the way to your destination. Get three wrong answers before your destination and you are booted out of the cab. The cab was a specially equipped mini-van.
