That is an interesting way to add a turbo to his car, I wonder how long it took him to engineer that one...

pontiac catalina 1965

The wire going to the distributer is actually something like 8 volts, they used a resister wire to drop voltage to the points to make them last longer with out burning up. You can look around and find a switched 12 volt(comes on with the key) and route it from there, you have to do this on any pre 73 car when you upgrade to the HEI electronic ignition. -
Thanks Rykxus, It was a fun project, I do have to thank my lovely wife who helped me through the whole thing. She was my extra pair of hands, she also did a lot of sanding and painting of POR 15 on the underside of the body, frame and suspension. We started in December by stripping my 2 parts cars, a rusted badly 68 gto and a smashed 72 Lemans sport, I used some of the parts and the rest went on Ebay. I made enough selling parts to finance the parts I bought for it. We started in december spending almost every waking moment in the garage and I took her for a ride on the 4th of July. The car isn't perfect, and never will be because I drive it whenever I can, but it is one hell of a driver and a good time was had by all.

About 25 of them got saved by me and my buddies. I know a lot of people showed up and were buying, but I do not know how many got crushed. In a way I am not sure if I even want to know how many got scrapped...

Reading about the rescue party reminded me of something and I pulled out my pics and made an album to go with the story.... A few years ago I was talking with a buddy of mine and he was telling about something he heard from a friend of a friend(you know how that is) about a guy that passed on and his collection was being cleaned out, it was mostly parts cars and restorables and his family was going to have a crusher come in, however, they could be bought and removed for scrap price wich was $200 a car at the time. We went and took a look, I borrowed a grand, made several trips.... Anyway, here is a sample of what we found on the guys 80 acres or so of property.. http://photobucket.com/intheweeds
