The G8 in some ways was supposed to be the cheap man's M3, if you wanna look at it that way. That's why it has a luxury appeal and is a performance vehicle. There a video of Clarkson driving the Vauxhall version of the GXP and saying it's better than a an M3 and Audi's. I test drove a G8 back when they first came out and I liked everything about it except for a few small things but overall I was impressed. Then again I was comparing it to my G6

Well guess it all falls together then, good for him. In all honesty you're good running without the resonator. For water to get up into your intake it will take a whole lot of unfortunate events to happen or you're just sitting in high water. Which if the latter would happen you have a lot more to worry about than what a resonator could save you.
