  1. Totally thought the pool was the ocean at a quick glance so I got confused
  2. Filed under: Plants/Manufacturing, Ford, Mazda Mazda6 s Grand Touring - Click above for high-res image gallery Mazda and Ford have long participated in a joint-venture at the Auto Alliance International facility located in Flat Rock, Michigan. Mazda presently uses the facility to produce the Mazda6, while Ford pumps out the Mustang. We heard rumblings that Mazda was looking to pull out of the partnership, and now those rumors have a bit more teeth. Mazda has announced that its next mid-size sedan will be produced at the Hofu plant in Japan. Currently, the Mazda6 (also known as the Atenza) is built at AAI, Hofu and at China's FAW Car Co. Mazda is going to continue to build the current Mazda6 at those three locations. Production of the next-generation car will be transferred from AAI to Hofu. Importantly, Mazda they are examining other opportunities with Ford, so as to continue participating in the joint venture at AAI.Continue reading Mazda confirms next mid-size sedan for U.S. will be built in Japan Mazda confirms next mid-size sedan for U.S. will be built in Japan originally appeared on Autoblog on Tue, 07 Jun 2011 11:30:00 EST. 3. Buick is getting better, I wouldn't mind having a new Lacrosse.
  4. Why no Malibu? It's basically an updated G6 with Chevy badges
  5. WTF? How is it flying?
  6. Filed under: SUV, Europe, Plants/Manufacturing, Crossover, Audi, SEAT, Luxury 2012 Audi Q3 - Click above for high-res image gallery It wasn't that long ago that Audi had no SUVs in its lineup - aside from the A6 Allroad Quattro - despite being known for its all-wheel-drive vehicles. But that's all changed, just as it has for BMW and Porsche. The Q7 was followed by the Q5, and now the Q3 has started production as well. The first Q3 rolled off the assembly line today at the plant in Martorell, Spain. The facility belongs principally to Audi's sister-company Seat, but has gone through a considerable expansion - funded by both Audi and Seat - to prepare for the Q3's production. Now that production has gotten under way, the Martorell plant is expected to churn out as many as 100,000 examples of the Q3 every year. For more details on the program and the expansion that made it possible, follow the jump for the full press release.Continue reading Audi Q3 production begins in Spain Audi Q3 production begins in Spain originally appeared on Autoblog on Tue, 07 Jun 2011 10:30:00 EST. 7. Filed under: Coupe, Europe, Hatchback, Misc. Auto Shows, Opel, Vauxhall, UK 2012 Vauxhall Astra GTC - Click above for high-res image gallery Different strokes for different folks. While Volkswagen chose to label its coupe-like Golf derivative as the Scirocco, rival automakers are keeping theirs in the family. Take, for example, the Renault Megane coupe, and this - the new Vauxhall Astra GTC. Compared to the already-sleek five-door Astra, the GTC retains only the door handles and antenna. All the body panels are fresh, riding on a wheelbase that's actually longer than the existing five-door's, and it's slower and wider, too. Overall, it's a pretty direct production of the GTC concept unveiled at the Paris Motor Show last fall, and of the renderings released more recently. British buyers - and presumably European ones at Opel dealerships as well - will be able to choose from from four engine options: a 1.4 with 118 or 138 horsepower, a 1.6 with 178 hp or a 2.0-liter diesel with 163 hp. The sophisticated suspension from the higher-end Insignia VXR coupled with adaptive damping promise to keep handling tight. The Astra GTC will headline Vauxhall's lineup at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month for its public debut (it was originally promised for this fall's Frankfurt Motor Show, but is showing up early), but you can check it out now in the high-res image gallery and the press release after the jump.Continue reading Vauxhall unveils new Astra GTC ahead of Goodwood debut Vauxhall unveils new Astra GTC ahead of Goodwood debut originally appeared on Autoblog on Tue, 07 Jun 2011 09:30:00 EST. 8. This announcement raises serious questions about the future of the AAI operation. Mazda and Ford each have a 50-percent stake in the factory; with the former’s's future at Flat Rock in jeopardy, the implication is the same for the the latter’s. For its part, Mazda says that it is committed to “identify[ing] potential future opportunities for the plant.” This strikes us as an unfortunately weak promise; if there were serious plans for a new product at Flat Rock on the table, we’d expect the statement to be more concrete in at least saying a decision will be made soon about which new product will be built there. A Ford spokesperson, however, was far more positive about her company’s future in Flat Rock, telling us that AAI “is a critical plant in Ford’s U.S. manufacturing footprint.” The Mustang remains a key product in both image and in profits for Ford, and we don’t imagine the company has any interest in picking up and moving the line to another factory. It’s uncertain whether Ford would have the option to buy Mazda’s stake in AAI if the latter decides not to build anything new there. We can easily imagine Ford taking the entirety of the factory and using it for . . . well, let’s not be too speculative about Ford and additional rear-wheel-drive cars. There’s a decent amount of Mazda history at the Flat Rock production site. The company opened the factory in 1987, and built cars there alone until Ford bought a half stake in 1992. The Mazda MX-6 and 626 were built there, as were the Ford Probe and the most recent Mercury Cougar. We hope Mazda finds a good reason to hang around, or, at the very least, Ford can step in and maintain the jobs in C/D’s beleaguered home state. http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/caranddrive...~3/AXoRMX9n3HI/
  9. The mini-est of the current-generation Minis also will be the quickest and fastest. Mini prides itself on being a trendsetter, although in this case it?s merely jumping aboard the latest industry bandwagon, releasing information on an upcoming model and accompanying it with official ?spy? shots. Annoying as this practice is, at least we now have official confirmation of what we?ve pretty much officially known for two years now, that the upcoming Mini Cooper Coupe will be more or less a Cooper hardtop, only with less greenhouse and half the seats. 10. Sadly it's not GM who says lets go this way, it's the customers. That is what customers today want to buy so it gets made. I personally don't find the Buick Regal that bad looking, it's a little off to what I visually would like but I absolutely love the new Lacrosse. I know they look kinda the same but the Lacrosse is bigger and fills the look better.
  11. That's kinda cool, didn't know that till I saw the pics of the one Joe posted.
  12. Ouch, yeah honestly I wouldn't know where to go with it. GEOs aren't that bad, it's a slight step up from a brisk walk at least
  13. Interior looks better! at the muffler
  14. Proud of you Mark, you made it two years
  15. That's cool that you got to drive a bunch of cars, really puts forth what you like the most, even if you were just a kid.
  16. Looks like it was a good show! Great looking Goats and other Pontiacs. I love those classic Goats! Is that a bubble car? lol
  17. That's awesome! Sounds exciting! Wish I could go
  18. Hey at least we care to try and figure out what you're saying
  19. I like looks cool. Really like the sun flare
  20. Pure secks!!! I wouldn't go that dark on the headlight tint IMO but I think it looks good
  21. A, for Effort D, for don't do it I like it as a PS and an idea but to actually put it on a modern Goat would look out of place IMO and agreed with Erik. People from LS1GTO would hunt you down and burn you and it
