Hey. i hve an 06 2.2 and i usually have my comp thing on the coolent temp and is usually around 88-90 (190-194 F) but the other day i went for a drive and on the highway it was around that but when i got in town it went to 95-100 ( 203-212 F). any ideas why it might be doing this? and is this bad for my engine? no lights went off or anything

How long have you been monitoring your coolant? Has it increased like this before, if you have been for over year, near summer time and when its hot out?

These temps aren't real significant difference but I'd keep an eye on it and as well check you fluid levels every now and again.

i agree sounds like a sticky thermostat.. or possibly blockage else where

i dont know much about these cars though.. but there could be the possibility of running to cool on highway due to your thermostat staying open to long
