Roadkill NIghts is this coming Saturday in Pontiac Michigan. If you are a fan of the old Roadkill TV shows, you know that this is a separate event that includes street legal drag racing on Woodward Avenue, one week before the legendary Woodward Dream Cruise. This year's event will be held in downtown Pontiac, in the same location as two years ago - southbound Woodward at Pike Street - two blocks from the Pontiac Transportation Museum.

David Freiburger and Mike Finneigan of Roadkill fame will be there. This will be the first time since this event started that they will NOT be shooting a TV show. I suppose it is possible that they could be shooting episodes of their own YouTube channels.

For information on RKN, see the link below.

Pfft....like I have a choice Kiwi.

Justa would be guilt tripping me bad ("you know we love pics around here" - sorta thing). He'll be the first one to ask if I got any Roadkill stickers too. If Indyman Joe gets into the drag race, then I am morally obligated to take pictures.

So yeah, I will be there with my camera.

We even have matching PIT CREW shirts for Indy's crew. Sadly he did not make the big show again. Who was guilt trippin who on the T trailer pic's? rofl You have already found and secured the famous 2025 Woodward street signs for the whole crew. You have achieved HERO status again....bowdown

Roadkill is afraid the old Pontiac will outshine the dodges. maybe next year, again.

W ell Roadkill Nights (RKN) came and went. It was hot, muggy, exciting activities. I was able to spend the entire day with Mr and Mrs notallthere too. It is always good to see them. Sadly we don't get together enough.

Parking fo the cruise in was a bit a disaster. I followed the direction they sent me but when I got to the entrance, half the street was closed off. An Oakland County sheriff's deputy car was there flashing it's lights and some security guy was standing in the middle of the half of the street, preventing anyone from coming in for no apparent reason. I went around and came back and he let me in. I was told to "go left", which I did. No one was directing parking for cruisers. It was first come/first server kamikaze parking N Saginaw St. I backed Violet in next to a green SRT Hellcat, but he eventually left. No one directed me to registration/check in. I later learned where I was so suppose to go at the end of the day but by then there was no open manning that tent/operation. Honestly I feel like I pissed away $125 for a mere parking spot.

I had serious bug kill on the front of Violet from the drive back from Holland Michigan the night before. The notalltheres showed up shortly after I arrived and finished debugging the car. I brought extra chairs so we sat and chatted for a good while. That's when the missus noticed this.....

Yup Freiburger and Finnegan....talking right across the street from Violet. So we got up and talked to them. I got their autographs on my 2025 HRPT hat too. Finnegan was saying how much more comfortable this show is because it is sooooo much more hot near Atlanta, where he lives. This felt cool(er) to him.

Here's a look at the cars parted on the street near the entrance to RKN.

This truck reminds me of Dirty Girl for some reason.

Inside the Mopar extravaganza began. Dodge Thrill Rides, the new NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series RAM truck for next season. Dodge Charger EVs and and Hurrican twin turbo powered cars were there. Drag racing of course.

I got nitrous!

The pit area for the racers. Sharp eye locals like Indyman Joe, Justa6, JustaG6, and others will notice that the old parting structure over Orchard Lake Road is almost completely gone!

RAM monster truck - it wll crush some cars later.

The new RAM pickup for next year's NASCAR Craftman's Truck Series. It marks Stellantis' return to NASCAR. Still not Xfinity cars yet, just the truck.

Cotton and Newbern were there too, signing autographs.

We found these FIATS near the food court area. Not sure if these are real Fiats or golf carts.......there were three of them, all identical.

Filming was terrible for me. Best videos I took were.....

Cool burnouts.

Here is the official replay from YouTube

The notalltheres and I decided to grab lunch at a burger shop on Saginaw St instead of the carny food there at RKN. It was good decision. We got there early to enjoy the air conditioning, fresh cold water, pub sandwichs and chicken tenders. From there we decided to walk to the Pontiac Transportation Museum. That was bit of hike since you had to walk around the drag areas closed off on Woodward. I won't bore you with PTM photos in this thread.

After walking back from the PTM it was after 3 pm. We decided to call it a day and parted ways. I talked to the guy parked next to me. I finally decided to pack it in the for the day shortly after that. It was hot, sweaty, my feet ached, and quite frankly I was tired. While I honestly had fun today, I had had enough., I felt this RKN was badly managed and I suspect attendance was down too. This is the first RKN run by Hirst since they bought them. It was also the first time RKN when the Roadkill TV show was not filming an episode their either. I can't help but wonder if both entities feed off each other. I am not certain I will come back next year after paying $125 for parking and I have nothing to show for it. I am highly dissatisfied with things outside the main entrance. This should have been much better managed.

One last complaint, which is not a reflection of RKN or Dodge. The parking lot that the event was held on is in terrible shape. You have to constantly look down to see where you are walking because of potholes, loose gravel or stones, uneven pavement. This is lot a mess. I doubt that the lot owner will re-pave it anytime soon until they are sued.

Thankz for the report on Roadkill. From west side of the state, to Roadkill (PONTIAC) and then the club meeting back in Lk Orion too. Much better man then me. Then bad news from the club that M1 messed us around and after great effort from the club, we came up short and we don't have a parking spot for the Dream Cruise next weekend. Going rate is $75 per day to a $100 (if we had taken the deal offered on our longtime spot) So I guess our gang will cruise down Woodward early, stop N grab T-shirts then maybe cruise up to the bricks before the 90 degree day kicks in and the roads (Woodward and Saginaw) turn into parking lots. Thankz for sharing your weekend buddy.
