68 GTO Convertible??

Featured Replies

Ive mentioned this car previously, sitting in garage up the street for decades!!!! I have a feeling it maybe coming up " fur Sail" soon! 400 blew up and his brother put a SBC & trans before being parked. I'm going to assume the engine is seized?? what would be a reasonable offfer?? Can't see the car other than back bumper as it's buried in junk!! Engine /trans combo reduces value The body was in good shape last time I saw it being driven

Pete, I looked up the price of a 68 GTO convertible on the Haggerty price guide. This is in US dollars and not those Canuckistan loonies.

#3 Good condition $23,300

#4 Fair condition $15,500

Since it’s not numbers matching, or even a Pontiac drivetrain obviously that devalues the price even more. Condition will be a concern too - you know that too! At least you a have a ceiling price to start your way down from.

thanks Dennis, that helps if it comes up, I'm "thunking" around $$ 10 G'sCanukistan Loonies if I can get a look at body an undercarrige?? He will likely want " restored #1 price"

Unfortunately there is alot of Rusty Scrap Metal that used to be a Car with most of the Crucial Parts Missing...That the Owners really think is worth Top dollar # 1 Price and will Not move from that Price...Junk is still Junk No matter what its...

Always happy to help, especially a friend Pete!

I agree Two Lane. It amazes me how many classic car owners think their POS is worth Barrett-Jackson #1 condition money.

I just found out owner is not well and diagnosed with severe cancer !!! His nephew showed me a complete rear clip they bought awhile ago, so that leads me to believe its got " some issues"  It could be a $  Pit and be buried in it cost wise!!  All I can see of it is back bumper

I'd look at it and see what the asking price is. If it is low enough, perhaps you can flip it as is? Or perhaps do some minor work like a tune up and basic maintenance / get it running and then sell it. It never hurts to at least ask.
